That sonofabitch. He named it WHAT KIND OF DAY HAS IT BEEN.

All things considered, this week's Doctor Who wasn't so bad. Ten is still a wanker, though.

--

Am all over The Weepies/Deb Talan/Steve Tannen right now. Live sets, live albums, actual albums, the lot. Just wonderful, wonderful things.

--

Saw Studio 60: not a big fan of all the recycling, thought most of it was average, but I'm finding that I really enjoy seeing Lucy Davis and Nate Corddry work with one another. Also: STEVEN WEBER. I don't know. You can really feel the strain of the move towards the finale and I don't know if it's that I know what that looks like now, or if it's really just that horribly obvious, but I'm finding seeing the mechanics of the whole process really ugly and horrible.

Google Notebooks is yet another application that has made my life better. I'm well aware that one day the world is probably going to be run by google, and yet I find that I increasingly do not care. When they ask who was the first to fall, y'all can point to me.

Back to doing notes. I have forgotten how to (a) revise, (b) write emails, (c) write LJ entries.

UM, HAI THAR. IT'S JUNE.

--

I've woken up around 8am nearly every day but I just can't be arsed to get out of bed until 9.30am. Sigh.

In related news: T has her first exam today (right now) which makes things horribly real.

--

Started doing work proper yesterday in prep for my exam. I need to go over the semester's notes and texts. Am half through the lecture notes; that leaves tomorrow and Sunday for the texts and Monday morning for zenning.

My plan of work so far has been: one set of notes, one bit of fandom. So far the fandom portion of that has entailed my re-watching Objects in Space from Firefly. Twice. I've said this many a time and I'm likely to say it again: excellent, excellent 45 minutes of television.

It's Friday. You know what that means.

--

Feeling a tiny bit put out by The Flatmate but not enough for a full explanation and only so much that this teensy rant is enough to help me deal.

Anyway, in about 10 days, I will be going home which is possibly one of the more terrifying aspects of the end-of-year crawl. You know me: I hate the commute.

edit: Did I mention that I saw Studio 60 last week? And enjoyed it (relatively speaking)? Oh, Allison Janney. You make things shiny and new. Also: ficathon deadlines. [livejournal.com profile] femgenficathon, July 15th. [livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon, July 31st.

Oh, Studio 60. spoilers for the post-xmas episode. )

Back to writing essay plans for the exam which I will blow not because I don't know my shit but because I possibly have forgotten how to sit an exam in the past year and a half? Um. YES.

edit: Not all of my posts are showing on flists. WHAT. ??

» Standing Outside the Fire is by Garth Brooks, remember?
» do laundry
» go to avenue. to see mod. tutor
» throw out trash
» clean the bathroom

And other shit. I cannot be arsed to do anything today but here I am, five minutes away from throwing myself out of the door. SIGH. Also, last night, I rewatched the S60 scene between Jack and Jordan, and I really love what Steven Weber did with it. YAYZ.

Dear Studio 60,
Sigh. Just when you were getting better at this shit, too.
Disappointedly yours, M.

Anyway, I've now seen the irst two episodes of Dexter. Guys, you should really be watching more shit by HBO/Showcase. It's like 20 times better than normal TV. And it's totally pretty.

eta: No, I am not getting suckier at typing. The keys are sticking so even when I do press the right one, it doesn't produce a character. This is going to make essay writing a whole new hell.

So, season 7 of Buffy? Totally begins in Istanbul. Why yes, I have made the TOTALLY RANDOM decision to rewatch S7 of BtVS. How did you guess?! For those that care, this re-watching thing feels like a BAD IDEA, serving only to remind me how much Anthony Stewart Head is like SK and how much I really, really dislike Sarah Michelle Gellar.

This week's Torchwood. )

Studio 60. )

I'm still watching Seven Swords. It's like the film that will never end and yet it is so good.

delga: ([Random] pet the bitch.)

Oh man; people don't understand irony at all, do they? Someone in a comm just told me that "you know, to get the hearts symbol, you have to use a semi-colon at the end of the code?"

YES, THANK YOU, I DO KNOW THAT. I DELIBERATELY DON'T DO THAT. IT'S A ME-FAD. I FOLLOW ME-FADS.

&fuckyou; just for posterity.

I handed in my film essay; only af. lit. left to do, hurrah! Now I'm going to watch things from last week whilst I write up class notes from across the semester. (Last night, post-Spooks, I stayed up to watch Studio 60 and ended up watching Torchwood, too. The former was anti-climatic because I don't expect a dramedy to be telling me how to think, so whilst I could accept this verbose whatever from TWW, it's getting to be a bit much from S60. I did, however, like the line spoiler )

[paraphrased] because that's what I've been trying to say for a long time without being able to find the words. I, um, loved Torchwood? Although I'm told others didn't?) Today I'm going to get through the rest of Bones which I apparently started some time last week? Then BSG, SPN and VM. Maybe not all today. Tonight we're going to see Transamerica, huzzah. Good times? Quite possibly.
