Oh man.

Did I ever talk about the miniature serial killer? I mean, other than "it's not that guy who killed himself"? Because we all knew that, I think. This episode was creepy and really, horribly sad, especially when that cop died in the room. I like the idea of this serial killer who is deliberately taunting Gil, but CSI has a habit of tying up it's lengthier plot lines into too clean knots. I hope that doesn't happen with this case.

Fallen Idols was awesome. I think they're really trying to vary the way in which each of the cases open, because seriously, the teasers are getting crazier and more artsy every time a new episode airs.

The way the story unfolded was sad, and the scene with the teacher and the corpse was creepy. I really loved how complex the case was, and I would have liked to see more Sara in it because it really felt like a team case - verily, I still miss episodes like Chaos Theory.

It's weird, I've really been yenning for new episodes of CSI this year. During S6 I'd leave episodes for so long that I'd have to watch five in a row but this year I watch CSI almost immediately, or straight after Grey's. I'm falling for this show over again and not even because it's getting better. I think I've come to terms with it never being as good as the first three seasons and now I'm just happy because the format is smart and familiar, and the characters aren't being petty and arguing with one another. And then there was the Keppler run which really pulled me in because his character was so damn intriguing. Maybe there's hope for me and this show after all. (Not with the crazy batshit fandom, though. I learned that lesson a long time ago.)

Hahahahaha! LOVED THIS EPISODE. And not just because of all the funny, but because the case was genuinely interesting. I don't care about Danny/Lindsay. Personally I think they have more chemistry than Danny/Aiden ever had, but whatever. Their relationship does not upset me. My issue is that it would have been nice to know why that guy decided to randomly shoot five people in Montana. That case was so obviously just a way to wrap up Lindsay's absence story.

But the case! The magical stunts! The fact that I thought the guy was actually called Luke Blaine and thus was probably a nod in the direction of that twat, David Blaine! I loved Flack and Hawkes' little bit over 'Houdini', I loved Mac testing out all those illusions and magic tricks, I loved Stella smiling so much. I had an issue with the freaking act ends - what was with all the cheesy dramatic language? That was a bit much this episode. But yes, I was giggling so hard, and the conclusion was dramatic, too. I really liked it. *hugs CSI: NY* I hope I never have to abandon you!

ARGH. AAAARRRGGHHH! Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up! I hate you, Danny/Jordan storyline that refuses to die! I hate you Matt/Harriet/can't deal with each other already storyline that refuses to die! I hate you lack of Jack! I hate you everything to do with this show!

God. The pilot episode was so good, too. SIGH.

Oh Prentiss, I really like you. You have bizarre behavioural quirks, are intelligent and apparently socially inept. Yay!

In other news, watching Reid has been really painful and I really hope we're about to bring his recovery full circle. I hope that meeting his friend and that conversation with Gideon snaps him out of this shit.

Also: Hotch totally smiled and I totally had a moment of hormone-driven squee. Damn.

In terms of the cases, I loved the first one. Isn't that Calleigh's suicide-non-boyfriend from Miami? I don't even remember his name. I don't know if it's because I watched Jarhead last week, or if it's because The Unit and NCIS are basically my favourite shows right now (or both!) but any episode (or any show) that deals with the psychology of a war veterans is basically a win with me right now. The ending was so sad and so horrible inevitable. I loved it. (Loooove Garcia. Always. I rarely mention it but I really do adore her character. And I inevitably loved Prentiss speaking Spanish; she lived in teh accent which was so awesome. Maybe I can write Prentiss/Colby fic? Hmm.)

The second episode was the Jacqueline the Ripper case; the alcoholism got boring after a while, and I was hurting for Reid. That said, still an awesome case. I love Morgan figuring out that it would be a woman. "Wait, lioness?" Oh, Prentiss. So book learned.

Reid knowing the Jack the Ripper case inside out was predictable in a good way; it reminds me of the CSI case which was basically the same deal but with a guy. I can't remember who the expert was, though. (Because this too calls for crossover fiction, yay!) If he wasn't in such a funk, he could have geeked out fantastically. As it is, every time he brought his game, I paid so much more attention to what was going on. I love the nitty gritty psychological parts. They're my favourite.

But yeah, I loved these two episodes, just like always.

I should have watched these when I got them because they were actually good episodes. I preferred the second of the two, but the first one had that freaking awesome book-share conversation with Adama and Roslin, so that makes up for it. The second episode had the "you're welcome to have one of my beds" which, lolz. Freudian slip, naturally. The second episode was pretty cool considering how meaty it was. I like the idea of Galen stepping up for the little people, especially with the political story arc that has run from the very first season. Laura's story is pretty interesting in this regard and watching her change makes me wonder about her character. Also, I just like that Galen is getting more air time. I never really cared but since the episode where he attacked Cally, he's just been much more intriguing.

Recent episodes have seen a severe lack of Cylons, though, so we'll see what happens in this week's episode. I'm told it has more Starbuck which, frankly, it's about time. Seeing her with Adama was sad because I miss their father/daughter relationship.

edit: Hahahaha! I just remembered the very best part: the Aron accent! Baltar's native one? Totally an English regional dialect/accent. A region full of farmers. lmao, FOR THE WIN!

Dear Joshua Malina,

I love how you are turning up all over the place these days! You're so adorable. I hope you're back in Numb3rs soon because that would make me even happier,

love,
M :)

I don't know why I dragged my heels so much on watching 10x17 because it was hilarious and an awesome one-shot episode that felt fairly old school. Daniel for the win, seriously, not to mention Vala. I missed Sam's being there, but I'm just pleased it was so fun.

The beginning of Talion is sad, but it looks like a good, meaty canon episode. Well, Jaffa-related canon. Having seen two episodes of Battlestar today, I'm obviously in the mood for sci-fi now. (Oh Teal'C, honey, please stop yelling. You scare me. Also: hi Lexa Doig! You're so pretty)

It's sort of sad to me that after the episodes that I've got, there are only two more left. And then it's all over! I will cry, I'm fairly sure. I mean, I'm a sap that way, so it makes sense.

Re: Criminal Minds - Yes, Prentiss! She's growing on me, as well. I'm pleasantly surprised by the Reid storyline - it isn't nearly as awful as I thought it'd be. I love that everyone notices. I love Morgan, oh man.
And dude, yes, that was totally Hagan. I IMDb'd that because he looked so familiar but I couldn't remember. Totally unbelievable as the bad guy, though, because he has such a *nice* face.
I loved everything about the New Orleans episode - not that the case was particularly awesome, but JJ *shone*, and the team was teamy!

Re: Studio 60 - Eh. You know it's been cancelled, right?

Re: Stargate - JOSH MALINA WAS IN STARGATE OMG?

Re: the absence of Atlantis - dude, watch Atlantis! "First Strike" is delicious.

Re: the email - take your time. I'm curious which part of it is the discussion you've had with the majority of your f'list. (Also now, when I watch Stargate, I keep waiting for the mystery Daniel thing that made you do a double take. *g*)

re: SG-1. YES. AND HE WAS APPROPRIATELY AWESOME!
re: SGA - I saw that aaaages ago. I'm fairly certain I made a teesy comment about it too. Or maybe not.
re: email - if I'm back early enough from the show tonight, you'll get it tonight. Asfor the Daniel thing, it didn't make me double take. I just had an anticipated rush of hormones :)

It makes me sad there's two eps left. But like...I don't really wanna waste time watching SG1 anymore...but still...makes me sad....
