Aug. 11th, 2007 12:57 amAlso, can I just say that I am SORELY DISAPPOINTED that no-one wants to share my love of Saving Grace. I mean, COME ON. It's about a dysfunctional angel-seeing maybe-abused fairly-abusive-whilst-remaining-hilarious cop and an ANGEL named EARL. (EARL!)
WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE?
(Also: like, HOLLY HUNTER IS IN THIS. HOLLY HUNTER. SHE'S. I mean. I HAVE NO WORDS.)

No, really, Glenn Close scares the fucking shit out of me. I haven't even seen the whole of the Damages pilot because I'm that freaked out. Rose Byrne plays tortured/fucked-out really well (as evidenced by this and Sunshine, which, AGAIN, you should really drag your ass out to see) but this show is like The Devil Wears Prada meets Lyon's Den where Glenn Close = Meryl Streep's character + psycho-Rob-Lowe character AND IT'S ALL VAGUELY TERRIFYING with the payoff to The Lyon's Den sort of being THE WHOLE POINT. I don't even know what's going on. There's just lots of blood and tense foreshadowing.
IT'S AMAZING.

Look, I know, all this capslock incoherency is a bit shitty and a bit annoying, and your eyes are seeing it and skipping straight past it, but frankly, I didn't want to talk about That Thing What Fandom Is Currently Obsessed With RE: The Failures or Non-Failures of Eljay and THIS IS WHAT IT'S LED ME TO. Because for a little while you can kinda be freaked out and read all the posts on it that seem the most adept at summarising the issue, and then you can get a bit tired of seeing everyone's two-pence piece and all these alterna-eljays springing up, and then you are basically counting the number of posts it will take before you FUCKING LOSE IT.
WELL, HI. I'M THERE. And I'm not fucking talking about it anymore.

Also, you should know: I hate cat macros. Not funny, especially the people who try to make them and sort of DON'T GET THE GRAMMAR behind them. Because, yes, okay, captions on cats, HA HA and the whole idea is sort of to subvert the language. But the SUBVERSION has RULES and when you get it WRONG it's NOT FUNNY, JUST DUMB. I don't even object to the cat macro language because yes, I have a sense of irony beyond the length of my penis, and it's funny to a degree (when you're sharing that language) but PLEASE. Enough already. Fucking FELINES. I hate them nearly as much as I hate the comms on my fflist re: fluffy rodents. RODENTS. Fuck.

Date: 2007-08-11 12:30 am (UTC)A picture, if you dare? And true to my mentality of a six year old, he is a stuffed rat, but treated very much like a real one. Complete with me randomly leaving him around the house and someone actually squealing. Actually, that's true of most of my stuffed animals: they're treated as real people, complete with their own lives and personalities. I worry about me sometimes.no subject

And I can yell 'FLY, STEVIE!' and fling him across the room onto a chair or something. Because I am six years old.

Date: 2007-08-11 12:37 am (UTC)HA. (Today I read a ship manifesto for Mac/AJ. And even though I haven't seen the show, I was suddenly intensely invested. I'm only telling you this because you're the only person I know who has seen JAG.)

Date: 2007-08-11 12:41 am (UTC)And more people need to see JAG, for reals. It has its fare share of boring episodes, and they're really boring, but the good ones? Damn, they're good.
(also? I'M WRITIMNG FIC. I can't promise it's good, but I'm literally using up all of my funny - my daily hilarity allowance has been saved up for weeks for this one.)

Date: 2007-08-11 12:51 am (UTC)I would watch it if I could stomach the random weird humour-ness. I'm immune to its presence in NCIS now so I have to build up stamina, obvs.
(CATHERINE BELL. ZJETZ. Have you seen the latest Army Wives? OMG.)

Date: 2007-08-11 12:58 am (UTC)And no! I haven't! I'm a pre-hibernation squirrel; I'm stockpiling. I'm in hospital next Friday, so I'm saving it up so the mother and I have something to do. I'll have, like, four episodes by then. I'm wayyy behind.
