Dec. 1st, 2005 10:54 pm1. I'm a vegetarian and I have been since I was about 2. When I was a baby, there wasn't anything that I wouldn't eat. Then I got ill and stopped eating. My mum used to forcefeed me but the one thing I absolutely refused to eat was meat, so I didn't have to anymore. When I turned 11 and started secondary school, I opted to be a vegetarian for moral reasons. Either way, I don't eat meat, fish or gelatinous products.
2. I'm British Asian, no matter what anyone else says. It's this huge area of contention, depending on who you talk to, but I'm Asian and I was born and bred in England. In Britain. Lots of other British Asians/Asians probably think I'm 'white-washed' but I honestly don't care anymore. These days, it's not so much that I have an identity crisis, it's that other people don't like the identity I've chosen. Stuff 'em.
3. I read/write femslash, and read slash. I don't care if other people don't read it; what I care is if other people don't give you a choice as to whether or not you should read it.
4. I overanalyse everything including myself. Some people think this is a good thing, others disagree. My personal opinion on the matter is somewhat biased and in flux. I doubt I'll ever come to a proper conclusion on it. That's not really my style.
5. I'm a grammar snob regardless of the fact that I can't type and, as such, my posts are full of typos. I am manic about grammar and orthography. They are so important.
6. I am a word geek. I love them. I love the way you say them, I love the way you spell them. I love the way you write them. I love their history, I love their potential and I love their power.
7. I'm dangerously obsessive about just about everything. Life is ordered by schedules, calendars, clocks, watches and post-it notes.
8. I'm the queen of procrastination because even though I plan, I prefer the planning to the actual doing. When it actually comes down to it, I guess I'm just lazy. Then I panic and have to be uberproductive. At those times, being obsessive helps to get work done but also means that I can't stop working until what I've done is perfect. It's a damning double edge.
9. I love TV shows; good dramas that are well written, cast and directed. I refuse to watch soaps and reality shows, though, because they're trash and I like to get something a bit more high brow from my viewage. Which leads us to point 10...
10. I'm a complete snob. I judge people by their interests, their humour, their clothing and their level of intelligence. I judge people's intelligence by the TV they watch, the books they read and whether or not they can use commas, apostrophes and semi-colons correctly. So... :P
Pick 5 of your OTPs and then list which specific moment made them your OTP.
1. Fred/Lilah (AtS). Other than the fact that the two of them rock my socks in very different ways, they also share the attentions of Wesley whose character did this fantastic revolution over the course of the series. I don't have a moment for the pairing, but I'm very much into it.
2. Danny/Martin (WaT). Wow. My first slash pairing. The first WaT episode I saw was Clare de Lune which is Danny-mad, but then I saw the one when the teacher is conned by the girl into running off with her and a large sum of his money which subsequently goes missing, along with the girl? Anyway, there is banter at the start of the episode concerning vampires of all the damn things and it slotted the idea (of slash, not blood sucking vermin) nicely into my head. Then I met
wliberation and read fic by her and
nekosmuse and was entrapped forever, really.
3. McKay/Beckett (SG:A). Mwhahahaha. Because McKay is fantastically snarkish and so much better when he's not having to live up to Sam Carter and because Beckett is a million and one excellent things (listed here:
icaw /pimp) and together they are a sincerely great match. And then there was a conversation about mice and running wheels and, a year later, a canon kiss, and my work was done.
4. Dan/Casey (SN). Because Dan watched Casey get married to a woman who never loved him. Because Casey stayed for Dan. Because the two of them make up this world of banter that I cannot get past. becaus ethey are friends, more than friends and because they love women but they love each other too. It doesn't get better than this. Even if I do ship Dana/Casey. (Would it be very cheeky to have my next option as Dana/Natalie?? I think it would. OK. 4b. Dana/Natalie. Because they are so New York, and yet, so not).
5. Colin/Malcolm (Spooks). Because their love is so pure geeky. And because if this was an American show, these two would have a fanlisting, various eljay communities and a serious fanbase that could rival anything piffling from the Tom/omc or Adam/omc or Adam/Tom-the-Mary-Sue.

I need a slash icon.
I must find one for you. Or something. Because not having a slash icon is a crime. Thank goodness you have femslash icons at least, because if you didn't, I would have been VERY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU, YOUNG LADY!
...Right. Ehm.

Babbling must be contagious.

You do need a slash icon. And now I'm tempted to do a patch of slash icons. Which I will do because I FINISHED THE STUDY! So I have nothing left to do. :D
You go do your notes. I'll go dig around at getty.
