Some movie recs. Considering it's been a month since I haunted apple trailers, you'd think there'd be more there. Unfortunately, this is not the case but I may have missed quite a few becuase the site format has changed a little bit. Anyway, trailers:

Memoirs of a Geisha. Oh my. Even if you forget the fact that this is a based on an awesome book, you just have to look at the costumery and the camera quality to know that this will be a beautiful film. I'm considerably biased because OMG ZHANG ZIYI and the endlessly, endlessly awesome MICHELLE YEOH take lead roles. Yay! If I could entreat you to ignore that both these women are Chinese portaying Japanese characters? Because this movie is going to be so lovely.

Transamerica. Felicity Huffman. The end.

The Gospel. This is not a film that many people are going to take a wholesome interest in but looking at it, it looks like my kind of film. Thus, this is one I'm quite interested in seeing.

Casanova. Uh, is Heath Ledger really going to compare to David Tennant? Hmm? I'm not sure but then again, this version has a completely different feel to it than the recent BBC adaptation. But - omg! - LENA OLIN. This film just became worth seeing. Why yes, I am shallow. And?

Proof. Yay for math geekdom! I was going to rec this ages ago and then, for some reason, I forgot. Oh well. Also, I think Paltrow is infinitely better in this kind of role than in stuff like Shallow Hal. These roles show you that she's actually worth something as an actress (like in Sylvia). Not that I'm a fan of hers but Proof looks good. Hence being on this recs list.

Everything Is Illuminated. Self discovery novels are a weakness of mine and films are pretty much on the same score card so this, to me,looks fantastic. And Elijah seems to be giving the performance of his life, too. I think this will end up being a tragic as The Miracle Life of Edgar Mint, in which case, I demand you go to see it. (But only after you've seen the first two movies on this list).

Good Night & Good Luck. OMG! POLITICAL GEEKDOM! BLACK & WHITE MOVIE! Using clips of Senator McCarthy, this film seems to be retellling the story of the opposition to McCartheism in the USA. And, believe it or not, it stars Geroge Clooney in a serious role - I know, I know, be still mine whatever. He looks half decent too. But check it out! It looks so so so good!

OK. Off to do...other stuff.

Tonight, we watch Donnie Darko (again): yay! This will prevent me from emailing people in a sleep deprived state. This is a good thing. A very good thing. Firstly though, pictures of my room :)
