So, in an attempt to make myself less bleurgh, the world today is full of...well, grey clouds, actually, but never mind. I will persevere!

When I went into town a couple of days a go, I bought a puzzle book. So now, whenever I'm stressing out, I do a puzzle. Except there are these Su Doku number boxes that I've never done before. I love them - they're quite difficult because I've never been good at manipulating number values in my head. There's an example of one below. I still haven't got a full one right. I thought I had this morning but I checked the rows and columns and I'd got three numbers in the wrong order. The basic idea is this - there are eighty-one squares: that's nine cubes of nine-by-nine squares (you'll see what I mean below). You have to get the numbers 1-9 in all of the rows and all of the columns and all of the boxes. (Thus, each box must have the numbers 1-9, each column must have the numbers 1-9 and each row must have the numbers 1-9). But you can't have two of one value in one box, row or column.

Su Doku
2               7
      2 4 8
  4 8       3 2
8 6   4   5   1 3
  7           9
4 1   8   3   7 5
  5 3       1 6
      1 3 7
9               4

Anyway, that's that. You should all try it out. Can drive you mental.

This week's CSI was much better than I anticpated. From the exploding-toilet issue (not as gross as it sounds) to Ecklie having lost the body, the episode was a forage into the funny. Best bits were finding out that EMERGENCY BACKUP DAVID IS ENGAGED! And that Hodges has a special genetic quirk that allows him to smell cyanide. (He is forever dubbed The Nose now). Also amusing was this cute little exchange:

Suspect: I bet you [Greg/Liam] were a jock.
Greg: Who, me?
Sara: Him?!

Mwhahahaha. I also liked the nice throw back to the beginning of the season with all the alien talk. The 'crop circle' was amusing. But what's this 'task force' that Sofia is supposed to be on? Is this the cover for her preganancy? Because-- what? Anyway, overall, very cute.

Next week is the CSI finale (the Tarantino double) and afterwards - eeeee! Law and Order is back! Because NY finishes this Saturday, next Saturday five is showing MIA/NY (Miami) and Blink (NY). SG:A starts at 8 on Friday too. So many many fangirl happies. We just have to wait for Ch4. to show the right series of SG now. And for five to show Miami but I'm less fussed about that because, yes, one year on and I'm still wading in denial.

*sigh* Love this song.

Edit: Oh, Am typing up the Mariska article because it won't scan. I'll scan the pictures though.

Subject line comes courtesy of my cousin who is very much ok, thankfully. I've been reading a lot of the journals that I regularly scope (ones that I have tucked in my favourites list, not on my flist) and mostly people are well-wishing and hoping and praying. It's touching to be able to see a community like lj (as a whole, not individually) and to see the world coming together. There are other minor speculations (how this will fuel GWB, how European and American coverage is differing, anger) but on the whole, there is togetherness. Even on those journals who don't necessarily know me, I feel touched. Even though I'm not in London, this is still a big thing. That's our city, our centre.

The three best things I read today:

An interview with the Bishop and the Mosque leader
We live side by side here. Don't let this change that.

Someone at the press conference:
Please remeber the words Islamic and Terrorist don't automatically go together.
