Day Twenty-Nine: Least favourite dodgy government type

Now that I now what hestia8 had in mind regarding this question, it is still hard, because I can only think of three government types, and they were all the HomeSec. So I am just going to pick the token centrally-sourced villain that I disliked the most and say: that fucker, Oliver Mace.

Day Thirty: Something you learned from watching the show

How to dismantle a bomb using a microwave; how to make someone think you are knocking at their front door whilst slipping around to the back; how to be STOIC and MISERABLE in the NAME of the QUEEN; how to clean up tea-stained documents; how not to lie to terrorists; how not to be a mole; how to conceal a weapon in the neckline of an ordinary top; how to get oneself trapped on the coast on the occasion that I need to escape after having been framed for a crime and having shot my boss; subsequently, how to make the ocean a symbol of my epic woe in the most dramatic and futile way possible. (Oh, Mr Tom Quinn. I STILL DON'T GET IT.)

Day Twenty-One: An episode that made you cry

The closest I have come is over the season 3 finale. I remember watching 5x01 and getting really, really tense over Colin, too, but no tears. It's not really that kind of show for me.

See: Season 9; Lucas-slash-John. No-one is doing a good job of convincing me otherwise. (I will say, in relation to 9x03: the guest cast was pretty much the most excellent thing about this week.)

Whilst Adam Carter probably plays a little dirty, I think, honestly, Lucas would win.

Day Sixteen: favourite actress?

That is a really difficult question. I love what Norris did with Ros, but this is the show that also gave us Nicola Walker, Jenny Motherfucking Agutter, and Gemma Jones. So. Actually, probably Gemma Jones, for the scene after Harry has her house taken apart.

Day Eleven: Favourite male character

Zafar was my favourite for no real discernible reason; he's the one I enjoy to write and read about. But, really, I always had a fondness for Tom, who could be so-- if I came to the show now, I probably wouldn't be so sympathetic to him. But I came to the show 9 years ago, and Mr Tom Quinn set the (fucked-as-it-is) standard.

Day Thirteen: Favourite couple

Ros/Zaf. He was really the only person who didn't hold too much malice against her at the top, and she was so fond of him. It didn't even have to go anywhere; it was just nice that they could work together and be friendly, and have no onus on it.

Day Nine: Least favourite baddie

Who do you single out for this kind of award on a show like this? For serious, who? I hated the guys who killed Danny. I hated that sleaze in 8x03. I hated the whole of that stupid Iran plot in S6, and if I could call that a baddie then I would and be done with it. I hated those fucking rock stars in S3, because that apparently did happen. I-- who do you pick? You can't.

Day Three: Favourite Guest Star

Hands down, Lindsay Duncan, as conspiracy madwoman Angela Wells (4x10). There really needs to be more fanfic material covering this lady, for absolute serious. I also really liked Maria Korachevsky who met with Lucas in 7x07, and - of course - Ashok from 8x07. Ashok was especially wonderful.

Day Four: Favourite Female Character

Rosalind Myers, of course. I remember when Fiona Carter first appeared, and I was so pleased because I loved Tessa and I loved Zoe, and they were both gone/going, and Fiona held so much promise. And then, I don't know, that all fizzled out, and we got Ros in season 5, and she was everything I had been hoping for in Fiona. Tessa is my second favourite; all the bitterness wrapped up in one body. Goddamn.

Day Five: Least Favourite Female Character

This is actually surprisingly difficult. I guess Juliet, because of how that worked out. I pretty much loved all the ladies.

Day Six: Best Exit

Danny, at the end of season 3, because he was so noble, and brave, and he knew exactly what he was doing and what it would cost him, and he did it anyway. Absolutely perfect. Here's this guy who was always sort of third-wheel, whose lost and learned so much, and he went out a hero. I loved Danny.

Day Seven: Worst Exit

Zafar, who was given no chances at all. Close second are Sam and Colin, and their respective send-offs - Sam's being the least dignified ever. But, yes, Zafar. Fuck.

Day one: Favourite Episode

My favourite episode should probably be the EERIE episode, but is actually 1x03, when Zoe gets trapped in the hotel. It's a self-contained episode, the first instance of this particularly plot playing out, and the storytelling is excellent. Between the man being led to the roof, to Tom leading the charge at the end, and Tessa's B-plot with Johnny Marks, the whole thing was so neat. I still enjoy watching this episode.
