Back to work today after a 10-day absence. I'm actually feeling somewhat relieved this morning which says more about me than I'd like it to.

In the past two days I've watched all three Pirates of the Caribbean films (again) which stand up to scrutiny a little better when viewed one after the other. The one plus two trilogy format is still really interesting to me but I won't go into that (...again) for fear of boring you all to death. Suffice it to say that The Mother, The Sister and I sat down to watch the third film last night which made it funnier than when I actually saw it the first time around.

Anyway, I still think that as a one plus two story it holds water (lols) pretty well. Elizabeth's character arc is probably the most overt but I wonder about whose is the most interesting. I used to say Elizabeth, but now I think it might be Will. And I don't buy that 'he's released from his contract' bullshit that the director espoused. Why take value from the weight of the sacrifice made by giving the characters an out?

Then I was going to watch Independence Day (also again) because it was on, only to see The Interpreter when The Dad was channel hopping. He and I watched half of that before calling it a night. I know the dialogue at this point so I wasn't missing much.

Saving Grace is airing on More4 at a time when I can't possibly be up to watch it. How disappointing.
