Liiiiiiinkage!

--

Haha, guys, work has been kind of insane? I have a ridiculous amount to do before the weekend and apparently there is only one day before that arrives, what? Topics of conversation covered in the office today included: swine flu parties (ugh, I wanted to stab someone); SB's not-sister and her not-brother's estranged son; how much MD (who is white) looks like Randy Jackson (answer = surprisingly, quite a bit); how much SG's husband looks like Benicio del Toro (not at all); male need for post-chore approval; secret home names (mine is Freda, what?); loud old people. Etc. Etc.

Also: I ate two packets of belly jeans. Not good.

I have to interrupt this rambling report because Shitwood is on, and I have skewed priorities. Guys. This show. I don't even know how to express how much I both hate and love it. WHAT IS THAT.

YOU. ARE. WELCOME. Sometimes Dinosaur Comics speak to my soul, and I'm like, "WHAT. HOW DO YOU EXIST?!"

Things I said to RL friend the other day: "The Big Dinosaur: he speaks the truth." And lo, he has yet to let me down in that regard.

Um, hello! I have seen you around Ms. gloparker's lj and every time I think "awesome person I should friend!" Such endeavors always feel fraught with danger, but item 3 seems to indicate this will not be the case! Somewhere in the internets there is a tweet from my glee over the use of behooves.

This in reverse! This is truth.

And on that note, it behooves me to tell you that Google's spellfuck doesn't recognise 'behoove' as a word. Sadface, Google.

DINOSAUR COMICS YAY

I watched Shitwood (good name; I shall now steal it) over lunch, and have just read people's responses, and I am not surprised that a) I have reacted to an entirely different plot point to everyone else, and b) when they have reacted to the same one, it's not the same reaction at all, and c) Spooks has ruined my ability to watch almost any other show that deals with secrecy, government or espionage.

Are we talking about Lady Commander Badass, Super Spawn of Harkness & / or Lois Habiba Steps Up Her Game Again? Because those parts + Clem were what I cared about. Am I predictable? Yes. Do I care? No.

The best part of it happening in Thames House is imagining it happens whilst Harry is in that car trunk so that he can come back & say, Excuse me, Mr Prime Minister, but WHAT THE EVERLOVING FUCK.

Well, no, although I had forgotten Lady Commander Badass. Lois is too good for Torchwood. I was talking about everyone going NOOOOOOO IANTO and me going 'hahaha, the government are discussing which children to get rid of, why I am I not surprised?'

I am slightly confused as to the outpouring of comments about how this series has been chilling, terrifying and shocking, because it really hasn't.

Oh, and they keep saying the MI5 building, which bugs me, and they're not using Fake Thames House (although this turned out to be because they needed glass doors for people to run into)

Was anyone surprised by that? It was on my workplace's intranet front page (because of a reference to Oakington). I lol'd.

Yeah, me too, although I do think the finale was chilling. I want to make a post about it, but I also don't want to deal with the fandom. I was only watching casually! And now I have shit to say? What?

They have said Thames House a couple of times, but I guess they were worried not everyone watches Spooks knows what that is?

LOLS. Excellent!

I think I'm going nuts. Have you left a comment somewhere (can't remember which lj) about Please Remain Indoors and how The Event would be a good Spooks/Spooks: Code 9 crossover? Because I swear I read it earlier in the week and I cannot find it now. Did I make it up/dream it?

*facepalm*

Also, if you could be bothered (I can't), A Spooks/Torchwood crossover would be ace.

So I replied to this just before I went in to see Ice Age 3, hence the brevity. Yeah, I mentioned it when I emailed you the other day. A PRI/Spooks/Code9 crossover! IT WOULD BE GREAT. I mean, how else do they use the broadcasting system? Why is there no water but plenty of TV sets? Is it set IN LONDON? ARE THERE PEOPLE STILL IN THE CITY? (Oh my god. That's it. There are people stuck in London post-bomb who don't know that the rest of the country shifted north! I don't know the logistics, but that's a premise! Right there!)

It's terrible but I may actually be bothered to go through that shit. Although I just realised that the most recent series has scuppered my previous Shitwood fic, damn.

And here I was thinking that Shitwood was an interesting title and that I should maybe look it up... but now I find it entirely appropriate!

Also, having seen a non-country-locked version of the promo, OMG Matthew MacFadyen yayyyyyyyy, I haven't seen him in anything since Spooks and I got really excited. Yes.

LOLS. I don't know. I think the latest season has merits over the previous ones. And then again, it is still STUPID.

I KNOW. EXCITED. !!!!
