Both my parents had their birthday this past week, and because I am otherwise skint, I went about making up for it with baked goods. I didn't eat the birthday cake I made because I wasn't sure about it at all (and lols at the picture because it doesn't accurately convey how TERRIBLE that thing looked), but the rents finished it between them over the course of the week. The muffins were shared with my uncle, aunt and Baby Cousin, and yesterday I made cupcakes for The Mother, with a buttercream topping which came out damn well considering I was making the recipe up as I went.

We went to a wedding in June where there was no wedding cake, but instead cupcakes. I thought that was the best thing EVER. /random

Haha, well, we know what we're getting The Mother, but we didn't have the cash to get an actual cake (and we were still eating The Dad's!) so I decided that cupcakes are the next best thing. And fyi, they're pretty yummy. lols.

At least the cake you made was edible! I attempted to bake a cake for my dad's birthday a couple of months ago and it ended up, um, not so edible. I had to make a grocery run.

Gosh, I want cupcakes now. Mmm, buttercream icing.
