Californication, 2x05, Vaginatown

This was such a weird episode for me. After the bust up at the dinner party, it made sense to key things down a little bit, but this was so strange. Hank being at Lou Ashby's makes sense, but then to have him come up against ex-Mrs Hotch... that scene in the bedroom was so fucking surreal. I loved how wtf that character was, and then how stripped down she was afterwards. It was really kind of sad, and the parallels to Hank weren't on the level, but a point was made.

Seeing Charley Runkle trying to negotiate for Daisy still isn't old, and I love the hell out of Marcy who remains completely fucking insane.

Californication, 2x06, Coke Dick and the First Kick

Can you believe this title? lols.

Jeez, Karen. Way to continue to be fucking annoying. And that's all I have to say about her.

I have to say, watching Hank trip over shit and generally be a twat is pretty hilarious to me. I like that his code of behaviour is strict but a goddamn mess. I like that he thought nothing of screwing that journalist, or checking through Ashby's ex's mail, but had issues over open relationships (lolololol at catching that guy in Ashby's house) and then, of course, Ashby and Mia. Mia, who, at this point remains a peripheral annoyance. She;s just there in the background reminding Hank of all his shit, and then making things worse. Which is what she's supposed to do, so I can handle that. But still.

CHARLIE RUNKLE, LADIES AND GENTLEMAN. CLAP CLAP CLAP. The whole porn plot was hilarious this week. I fucking LOVE Marcy, and then to see her doing coke with the lead was so funny. She is so messed up. I can stop whenever I want, asshole. Holy shit. And Daisy! Being delightful! This is Vaginatown! THIS SHOW IS RIDICULOUS.

True Blood, 1x08, The Fourth Man

I should have done this last week, but I'm doubling up this week instead. Problem being that I barely remember what happened. Oh! That's right, Jason's V-fiend girlfriend turned out to be somewhat PSYCHO. I felt for that campy vampire when they caught him. (I felt for him over Lafayette, too, who has no business calling anyone a slut when he's such a whore.)

I was pretty annoyed with Sookie waltzing around being generally irritating after she found out Bill was still alive (although, lols at the sex in the graveyard; there's a lot about this show that's feral). I liked her more at the end of the episode, and I thought the scenes with Rene and Arlene were brilliant ("I know I done this four times already but it never gets old!" LOLS).

I also liked the direction of Sam's plot (which is a plus because normally I just find him annoying); and, oh. Oh. Tara. "She got a demon in her." "My granddaughter got a demon in her." I kind of hate watching Tara go off the rails like that because she's badass when her anger at everyone is justified and pitiable when it's not.

I like the way that Bill is edgy around Eric and Pam - and gosh, am I ever more interested in Pam now that I know she has after-hours clothes. (Pink sweater? Oh yeah.) I'm guessing she's younger than Eric, and he turned her? That's an interesting duo right there.
