Happy Diwali and a Prosperous New Year to all!

Which is to say, it was Diwali yesterday, and it's our new year today, and later my parents are taking us to this meet and greet in London. I have found a punjabi suit that actually fits me, so now I don't have to wear a sari. This immediately takes 50% of the pressure off. The rest I have to grin and bear, heh.

I have yet to hear from the places I applied to last week and I think that The Dad is going to set one of my cousins on me. My cousin knows a recruiter or something in London, which is a big deal to The Dad, but not so much to me (it's not the city I object to so much, but rather the arrangements that will be made for me when I get there. It's difficult to get much more stifling than this house, but not impossible). Am beginning to get superbly frustrated again.

My face hurts. Also, I jammed my finger between the desk and my chair yesterday and that is now swollen. In short: je suis a goddamn moron.

Am hoping NCIS and Criminal Minds arrive long enough before 2pm that I can put it on my mp3 otherwise the day will be a complete waste. I wish I was going to see Denz, Bish and Maya, and the rest of them, but their samāj is separate from ours. Sorry guys; share some penda without me!

Bizarre as this will sound (unsolicited job advice yay!), if you're looking to moving towards London, have you thought about working for one of the exam boards? I hate to sound like an advert for them, but I really enjoy working at Edexcel and I think you have the same sort of temperament as me, and also a) they're pretty recession-proof and b) there's loads of different types of jobs (and the possibility of your degree being totally relevant, although mine isn't because they don't do a GCSE in Heritage yet, ha ha). Edexcel is in central London but I think OCR and AQA are outside somewhere (ha, my London bias is showing). Their websites usually have all the jobs going.

Also, Edexcel has some very good benefits -health, travel etc - I presume the others do too.

no, i haven't yet, can you believe it? first i was waiting for someone else, but she saw it yesterday. just been watching 'dark angel' and a couple of movies. i will savor it tomorrow... (btw have you heard of the spoilers for 1x10? omg!!!!)

i did like it! love the gaius. just posted a review of 1x06 re that. i'm not surprised it wasn't a big fave with fandom though, the arthur/merlin quotient was low. (as for 1x10, if you don't mind the spoilers, go here.)

Haha, it's boring. It's basically draw-string elephant pants with a long kaftan on top, and a shawl. This one (http://www.designersalwarkameez.com/product_images/punjabi-suit.jpg) is a nice one. Mine wasn't like that.
