Currently I'm resisting the urge to talk at length about the end of Kill Ari, II (again) so instead you can read my immediate thoughts tomorrow morning when LoudTwitter delivers them for me. \o/ NCIS, how I hope I shall never tire of thee. ♥

Do any of my US flisters still use Pandora.com? I got kicked off when they cut the service to the UK, but I've yet to find an adequate substitute (Last.fm tries really hard but isn't the same, really). If anyone could tell me what Pandora throws up in relation to The Be Good Tanya's Junkie Song, I'd be very grateful.

So, In Plain Sight turned out to be Just My Thing (obviously) despite the fact that it has the World's Most Boring Subplots and kind of overplays its hand sometimes. I kind of adore Marshall, though! And it'll do for now. Especially since Saving Grace starts up again next week. Pompoms, my dear folk, pom-fucking-poms.

Now all you have to do is post more! ('Tongueface' is kind of inappropriate to write, but I'm guessing you know what I mean.)

Oh, I have to say this here because it has been bugging me for a while (effectively since I realised how dumb I was being):

Is it yay arms or ya yarms? Because for MONTHS I have been reading ya yarms and presuming it was some in-joke, and then a couple of weeks ago, the obvious answer occurred to me (while I was loading the dishwasher, no less) and I have been feeling very silly.

...not silly enough to keep quiet about it, obviously, but I need to know!

Hee, sorry: yay arms. As in, long hand for \o/

This would probably not be an issue if I didn't write out emoticons. (Current favourite: lolface.)

edit: Ha! My gmail feed just threw this at me:

You weren't asking me, but I'll answer anyway: it's yay arms. Or \o/ if you're more into visual representation. (Which [livejournal.com profile] delgaserasca is not, lols.)

It says pictogrammatically challenged for! a! reason!

Hmm. I need an appropriate icon for my ongoing battle against emoticons.

I think /o\ sums it up.

(Ironically, that came out as /\o the first three times I tried.)

Oh, I'd like to read more about Kill Ari, that arc is nothing but fascinating to me. It really surprises me how NCIS managed to get all the character continuity in, to think I thought it was just another procedural ala CSI!

Thanks for pointing out the Life fic BTW! And in In Plain Sight, I adore Marshall too, a lot!

OK, so, BASICALLY: I was thinking about Ziva and how even though we meet her in Kill Ari I, she's actually a ghost-presence in the series for the whole of the show since Ari arrived. (This is a thought I've had before.)

But then I was also thinking about the end of Kill Ari II and (a) the reveal about Gibbs' first wife and daughter (one that doesn't pay off properly until Hiatus regardless of those goddamn flashbacks) and (b) how involved Ziva is in all of that. That she is the one privy to this secret about Gibbs (which makes her dangerous to him) and that afterwards, when she kills Ari, he is privy to a secret about her which he sort of takes as. It's almost as if in Gibbs' head, him keeping the secret re: Ari is payment for her knowing about his family. WHICH IT ISN'T. Again, something I've said before: he doesn't properly trusts her until the end of the season, and it's so... I see his ire, because his pain is closeted, but I also feel like, wow. She killed her brother because you confronted her with a truth that she shouldn't have had to face. And that's his fault for forcing her hand, and her fault for not establishing her blood link to Ari and her father's fault for putting her with Ari in the first place.

(He pretty much says to her, I expect you to back my play. I don't know if he'd have asked it in the same way if he'd known she was Ari's family, but I also don't think that fact would have stopped him from asking that of her.)

(Edit because I have an overeager enter button. !)

Marshall is so charming whilst also being quite practical. He is the Eames to Mary's Goren, though in a much more cerebral way \o/

Yeah, Gibbs' reaction to Ziva when she appeared again was puzzling but reading your meta on it helped me figure it out. I love the way they built the character arc between Gibbs and Ziva and that unexpected way they finally bonded and Ziva breaking down because he didn't remember what she did for him and my heart broke for her all over again.

Oh, also I'm up to the point in my NCIS watch where Ziva fell in love with the guy undergoing radiation poisoning. Another heartbreak for her, also I see what you mean re: Jenny. I like her better in this season.

I love, love Marshall and to think I was pretty annoyed with his character in the pilot then the second episode happened and there was a rapid turn around, so fast I think I had a whiplash because after that episode I adored him. Mary, on the other hand, I'm having a hard time with. I like her but I don't love her. Strange for me because its usually the female characters I bond with first.
