Random gripe: I wish last.fm would let us choose the format for how music is scrobbled into the 'music' section of the update page.

Meme! Stolen shamelessly from [livejournal.com profile] razorxrosary, format and all. An excursion into My Bag. dun-DUNNN!

01 The Gran Bag. For the past few years I've toted around a handbag in which I house paperwork of various kinds, thousands of pens, and two sets of keys. Except, when I'm home, I need a bag that is big enough to fit small packages in, so recently I've resorted to my 'gran bag' (The Mother's name for it). It's a freebie from a magazine, but ridiculously useful. Also: a fetching colour. According to me.

02 Headphones. Tangled, no doubt.

03 Brolly. I live in the country of unpredictable rain patterns, so I don't ever, ever, ever leave the house without my brolly. I don't give a fuck if it's high summer and there are blue skies atop the world - I have this on me. (This is one of the reasons I switched from the old handbag to this one: no space for my umbrella in the other one.) I'm also not a great believer in wearing a jacket, so for me, this is staple outdoor wear.

04 Pens. Two black biros that write like a dream (♥) and a marvellous purple pen, all of which I've transferred from my other bag. This is more practical, but I miss my arsenal of stationary somewhat, so I may add more to this collection shortly.

05 Fishin Ajar. Otherwise known as a fish in a jar. [livejournal.com profile] xanitia gave this to me when she returned from her gap year travels, and normally it's in my room with all my other trappings (read: ducks), but Baby Cousin loves it for some reason, so I keep it in my bag now.

06 Stamps. I am a fan of postcards and impromptu letter-sending.

07 Red/Patterned Envelope. Given to me by Aunt R after my cousin's wedding. Contains: cash. I don't really understand why this is done (gifts are given both ways during the wedding but it's just a really strange custom). Also contains: more cash, from Aunt Ku, whom I fought with because it's not really cool to take money off your aunts and uncles.

08 Notepad. In my old bag I have two post-it pads. Now I just carry a notebook. I use it as an agenda of sorts, but also somewhere to stick to-do lists and random song lyrics. Yes, I am that sort of person. It's not dire if I don't take this with me, but because I don't keep any papers in this bag, if I don't have it, I end up writing on the backs of receipts.

09 Purse. Contains: change, lots of useless cards (Soton ID, 3 library cards from my secondary school &c.) and a few important ones, too (provisional license, library card, debit card &c.) Also contains: cinema ticket stubs.

10 Camera. I don't normally carry this around but it's a left-over from the wedding last week.

11 Mobile Phone. This past fortnight excepted, the phone is usually hiding at the bottom on my bag. It'll be on, no doubt, but I tend to forget about it for long stretches of time.

12 Keys. I used to carry around two sets of keys - one for Soton, one for home. But now that I'm home, I've just shifted all the keychains onto the home key. The original keyring is the yellow and blue cat from the Building Society. The other two are from: Baby Cousin (beads) and [livejournal.com profile] wishes_of_stone (monkey ♥). I actually own a ridiculous number of keychains, all of which I found whilst I was sorting out my room upon my return. Also on that chain: USB stick. So that I don't forget it.

13 Lithium Batteries. Another left-over from the wedding. For the camera, naturally.

14 Zen Stone. My tiny mp3 player, with its USB lead attached so that I could charge it whilst I was working at The Dad's shop earlier this week.

15 Red Nail Polish. A third left-over from the wedding, but one I'll probably keep. Normally I also have my gold bangles in there, too.

I love your bag, omg. Also your charming habit of carrying a brolly. I am not really a jacket person, either, and I start getting sniffly whenever I get even slightly cold or wet, so I really ought to buy a bag big enough to carry a brolly.

That envelope is so pretty.

(Oh, and I think I owe you a postcard - and have done for a while. I have it stacked on top of my bookshelf. Do you still want it, or would it be awkward if I sent it now?)

Guess what? It's raining. lols. But yeah, I got fed up of having to hold it (self = lazy) so this is a much better solution. (Your post was so... ! I love your notebook. I don't think I mentioned that. And your tiger keychain! Awww.)

(!!! It is NEVER AWKWARD to send postcards! Never ever. Never..)

Haha, yeah, I worked out that it had been raining when my brother turned up on the doorstep soaked to the skin (he's on work experience, so we didn't know what time he'd be home). Also: thank you! I am very fond of my tiget keychain, and paranoid about losing him.

(\o/! It's a nice postcard, too. I bought it from Paperchase and everything! Um, what address shall I send it to? I think I only have your uni one?).

Yeah, I had to buy new ones about a year ago. They cost about £10, but they're noise-reducing (so... they're actually like ear-plugs) and they're pretty durable. I love them a lot.
