-- DUDE. MISTER EKO. What the fuck? I guess in terms of the island's spiel, if you're going to weigh up the relative 'purity' values of Locke and Eko, Locke wins out because he didn't kill anyone (well, not intentionally). But MAN. I really, really liked Eko.
-- That smoke thing scares the shit out of me.
-- Kate/Sawyer = whatever. Although the fact that Kate's husband turned out to be Captain Tightpants is nothing short of lolarious. (Who else thinks that
-- Paula Malcolmson! Robin Weigert! Kim Dickens! Zeljko Ivankek! Weirdest guest casting I've seen in a while. (Um. I mean. Since Life, lols.)
-- I kind of wish Ethan wasn't dead? Yeah, I don't know what that's about either.
-- DESMOND, LOLS. I find him kind of smashing? Yes, yes. Also, whoever the new Boone and Shannon are, they are super boring. Also, also: I want more Sayid. You know, the guy who didn't go with the flow but was technical, less bitter, and more, I don't know, likeable. Hmmm.
-- I kind of loved how the opening sequence to 3x01 (avec Juliet) mirrored Desmond's opening sequence in 2x01. Also: how we've gone back to a much more explicit use of the "one eye opens" shot at the start of the episodes.
-- I want a Rousseau&Alex reunion. Really I just want more Rousseau.
-- Charlie is making me lol a lot, and he's barely been in this season.
-- So, with Sun, I don't— did she cause her lover to commit suicide? I don't really know what - that was a super weird episode. Not only because it was weirdly slow for a second episode, but also because it felt really incidental. That episode was barely about Sun, Jin and Sayid, and yet the flashbacks were the lead up to her shooting Cole(en). But the episode was really about the other three, right?
Speaking of the flashbacks, Juliet's is definitely the most interesting so far, probably because we don't know shit about her anyway. I get the feeling that Sawyer doesn't actually have a daughter and Dickens' character pulled a con on him. Kate's flashbacks were boring and pretty much the same as usual. Jack's flashbacks continued to detail that he was as much of an asshole as his father. Sun's, as noted, was just odd (too contrived, I think). Locke's flashbacks were predictable and kind of sad; I pegged early on that they were growing weed. Eko's flashbacks were heartbreaking and appropriate, and his death was pretty tragic. (Man. What the hell was the point of finding the tailies? I mean, if only BERNARD is going to survive?)
-- Magic numbers! All over the place! \o/
-- This show. THIS SHOW. Goddamn. More tomorrow, I guess. I don't really care that the progression of plot is actually pretty slow. I think it would be more frustrating if I had to wait for a week in between, but marathoning it is working in the show's favour.
