[Poll #1156445]

PIMP PLEASE.

--

I am just about to start watching New Amsterdam, 1x04, but I just finished 1x03 and I feel inordinately DISMAYED at Doctor Lady's Marital Status. YOU ARE HIS ONE TRUE LOVE, WOMAN. Married???. Ugh.

Well your answer was obvious, lols. Actually, everyone seems to be giraffe-friendly, which is good to know. (People are less convinced re: snorkles.)

You skip the obvious choice for shrimp: delicious.

And is that another show that has the woman stuck in a marriage and pondering infidelity to be with the man she has chemistry with?

Only if you eat shrimp, though! Some people might not and yet still find them to be Excellent!

Hmmm, SORT OF. The plot revolves around the idea of a heterosexual soulmate curse...thing. (I am writing fic where the soulmate unexpectedly turns out to be a GUY. Because COME ON.) Except now he's found her, she's married.

I don't know how "separated" works. To my knowledge, until you're divorced, you're married. Is it infidelity if you're separated? I feel like she should WAIT. But she didn't. I don't really know what she's thinking though because the show isn't about her at all (when... it should be, you know? If you're going to do a show about a 400 year old seeking a soulmate, we should get to see her side, too.)

I'm watching mostly for the Kick-Ass Partner who rolls her eyes a lot. (And the protagonist's fingers. Because. Um.)

Well, is it a legal separation? The courts don't acknowledge separation when it is simply living apart unless they've been petitioned by the couple. I mean, you are still married when you are separated and not divorced. In my eyes, it is still infidelity since you are not divorced despite leading a life away from your partner but not completely dissolved of marital responsibilities in the legal (not sexual) sense.

And yeah, I'd totally read that guy soulmate thing. I would imagine that reincarnation and soulmate-y things may get a little iffy when it comes to the infinite.

You and your dirty little thought. This is why I like you.

And the above spiel was brought to you by two years of high school civil law classes. Civil law classes-making you an internet lawyer since 2001.
