Naturally the hail lets up the minute I step foot into the house. I'm going to have to iron my trousers because there's no way I'm going to wear damp jeans to class. (Am currently in my pyjamas.) Also, I think that the seam at the toes of my shoes is... loose? I can't see a hole but my toes were wet through when I took my shoes off, whilst the rest of my feet wear bone dry.

My On the Road class is going to the local indie cinema tonight to see Wong Kar Wai's Blueberry Nights, his first English-language film, featuring Norah Jones amongst others. I was pretty psyched - I love Wong's work - but it turns out that I already have plans to go out tonight. The Flatmate, T and I are going to the local theatre to see Cats. (M = not hugest Cats fan, but it should be fun.) The only other showing of Blueberry Nights is tomorrow night, but T and I are going to the Union film screening of The Assassination of Jesse James. So. Other means, I guess.

The plan was to watch Battlestar Galactica, 1x01, 33 before my 4pm lecture but that fell through for various reasons. This week's class is actually on Nabokov's Pnin so when the screening turned out to be a documentary about Nabokov and Lolita I was surprised. Not because that's not appropriate but because I thought we were looking at Terrence Malick's Badlands this week. Apparently not.

Two weeks of class, and then it's Easter break. Which. Bloody hell. The second term always goes so damn fast.

Was checking the [livejournal.com profile] tja_rama flist and happened upon a Supernatural fic that, despite my not entirely knowing canon, I enjoyed. (I know enough about canon to work out the show.) I know there are a few Supernatural fans on my flist, so I thought I'd share.

Set post-3x12. I don't want to spoil the canon, or the plot, but something happens to Dean, and Sam (natch) takes it upon himself to fix the situation. And Bobby is there, huzz.

Four months later, one month before Dean's deadline would have passed, Bobby trusts him to go off on a hunt on his own. They've made progress in ruling out ways to get Dean back and Bobby thinks that there are still plenty of rituals left to go through. After all, demons have to get out of hell somehow.

The only way he can kill the succubus is by letting it drain another man. Only after they've fed are they vulnerable. She knows nothing useful to help him and he leaves her corpse beside that of her last meal.

He feels a glimmer of pity that the man had to die. His death will save many more.

I actually have a long list of fic recs to go through. I'd do that tonight if we weren't going out. Maybe later this week. Now I'm going to read some sonnets (yeah, did I mention I was suddenly beset with extra reading this week? Gah) and drink some mango juice. Fab.
