SO. I thought that the end of The Demon Hand was touching in an ironic way and that D's reactions to C were due to the incredulity of the scene. BUT. OH MY. The music Cameron is dancing to? Chopin's Nocturne in C-sharp minor. The music that the resistance group hear coming from the basement when they're taken captive? Chopin's Nocturne in C-sharp minor.

Sarah's closing voice-over suggests that Cameron is evolving into something that has desires of its own - evidence in support of this could be the chip and coltan business - even though Cameron doesn't save the Russian siblings because it's "not [her] mission". We know she's an old hat at subterfuge. THIS IS SCARY.

BUT. There's no real reason for her to decide to dance. EXCEPT. THE MUSIC. If we go with the above, then perhaps she's made a choice of preference for the dance. BUT. WHAT IF CAMERON WAS THE ONE WHO TORTURED DEREK REESE? And was captured and reprogrammed AFTER that? Then maybe she already has a connection to the Chopin? Also, that makes the final scene so much more charged - because it's just music to her, but to Derek it's a direct connection to the torture he endured just before he jumped back in time.

(My original theory was that maybe there was some sort of relationship - not necessarily romantic - between Derek and Cameron, and she betrayed him in some way. Which I think is plausible if you think about how much isn't revealed at the end of the flashforward sequence. That letter Cameron was writing? I thought maybe it was to the Cyborg that she killed. BUT. It could have been to Derek, him being the one shot and all? I don't really know what to make of that.)

edit: I retract that last one, about the letter? Because I watched the end of that episode again, and Cameron wasn't looking at him at all during the note. Which would suggest that maybe it was for (a) Suicide Girl or (b) the T-888 that tried to kill Derek. Scary.

I thought that the end scene was just painful in a roundabout way but now I think it could be cruelly ironic. Which. Holy cow.
