(Mod American Culture, sadface. The lecturer is a MORON. Thank HEAVENS he doesn't do the seminars as well, because I had to listen to him being HOMOPHOBIC and a MORON for TWO HOURS this morning and I wanted to STAB HIM with a BIRO.)
(INDEED. I might have to REMOVE him from SOCIETY. It occurred to me that I might have been OVERREACTING because it was NINE AM and he was being MEAN about WALT WHITMAN, but I dismissed this thought, because quite obviously, said lecturer is a COLOSSAL WASTE of OXYGEN.)
(Momentarily SUSPENDING the EMPHASIS CAPS, because it's quite TIRING. He was talking about the Civil War, and how Whitman glorified it because the notion of men being in close contact with each other and the sense of brotherhood etc. "excited" him. Then he went on to imply that Whitman hit on mutilated soldiers while he was working in a military hospital and... it wasn't so much what he was saying, but the way he said it. All like, "Look what a filthy homosexual!" It made me very angry. Especially when he read a bit of The Wound-Dresser ["Many a soldier's loving arms about this neck have cross'd and rested / Many a soldier's kiss dwells on these bearded lips"] and some guy behind me said "Gross." I-- just. SO ANGRY. I'm willing to forgive the fact that the lecture was of an appallingly low level, and the lecturer's English of an even lower level, but I should not be expected to deal with homophobic morons on a Tuesday morning.)
\o/. Evening classes, bah. Yes, it is very slow, but I love it a lot. I hope you'll give it another shot ce soir. Travel by Sea is composed of two people who have NEVER MET. !
Ugh. Try pasting the CSS into the box in the customize area? That tends to work loads better/faster than external CSS.
I second twincy's comment! Ordinary snakes are evil enough, but if they are invisible, too? *shudder* They will be able to creep up on you even if you are keeping a look-out!
The monkeys. Monkeys are already resourceful creatures. Strap a pair of wings on those furry little fuckers and you've got dive bombers with tails, teeth, and nails.
Plus, they fling their own poo. Airborne poo attacks are true evil.
