{ you cut me open. }
Nov. 4th, 2007 05:31 pmI really can't attest to having done anything of use today. I can't even work out where the time went. I sorted out laundry today, which didn't dry properly, so that's hanging all over my room right now, and I watched the first episode of Band of Brothers. It's been a long time since I saw it, and I don't really remember the full sequence of events. The weirdest thing is noticing all the actors I recognise. The only thing I really remember about the show are the final two episodes - and that the whole series packed quite the emotional punch. I enjoyed Curahee; I'll watch Day of Days probably later tonight.

I finally watched the Damages finale. It was good, but not as good as what it could have been, in the sense that they could have closed the whole thing down as it stands, and had the series end with the end of Frobisher. But they're obviously gearing up for a second season which disappoints me a little because the intensity of the first season pivoted around to explaining how Ellen got into prison, and how her fiancé was killed. I feel like we're going to go into a second season where the script is much looser, and they'll start doing things more for the shock factor than for the this-has-been-thought-out factor. Miniseries are awesome, people, get the fuck behind them already. They're the chance to tell a neat, well-scripted, tightly controlled story. This finale could have been so much better.

This evening, T and I are going to the cinemas to watch Rendition; we're leaving in about ten minutes. Damn fireworks have been going off for the past week or so, and they're beginning to do my head in. That said, if I turn off the light, I can watch the neighbours' display.

Class tomorrow, at 9am. Can't be doing with it, but needs must, et cetera, et cetera.
