No 'cest because, yo, not my thing, but ANGST is GOOD, as is BACKSTORY, or PAPA WINCHESTER FIGHTS HIS FIRST DEMON or PAPA WINCHESTER WORRIES ABOUT HIS PARENTING SKILLS or PAPA WINCHESTER IS GENERALLY MADE OF WIN.

I'm really not that fussy as long as it involves (a) a rudimentary understanding of the language and (b) PAPA WINCHESTER.

I don't know if mine are deeply satisfying or not, but you can check out my fic tagged with Supernatural to see if you've missed any of my John fic. He's in at least one of my spn_xx fic as well even though those are focused on the women of SPN.

I like Nemesis Mine personally. The sequel Limbo isn't bad either.
