"His name better start ringing some bells, or I'm gonna ring your bell!"

OH MAN. So, I'm rewatching some S3 Numb3rs: 3x14, Take Out because I couldn't remember what happened in that one (it's actually a very good episode, and I enjoyed the re-watch immensely), and 3x15, End of Watch because I'm screencapping. Two things: having spent the first half of the season visiting ex-Deadwood cast members, the second half seems to be poaching gleefully from The Wire. Also, the above line can be attributed to Lt. Gary Walker, LOLZ. Man. I miss watching the show. I'm glad I decided to re-watch.

But here's the real reason for this post: Liz kicks some serious ass in this episode. I mean, she's still all Don!proppy for a portion, but she's the one who suggests that since one lead seems to have petered out, they could always look in the other direction. On top of that, whilst I still find her advances on Don to be difficult to watch, I'm making some excuses for her, because she's been pretty watchable in this episode. So. Um. (Okay, look, it's true: her hair is TOTALLY cute, and that tailored blouse is made of WIN, and I'm as shallow as a paddling pool, SO SUE ME.) All I'm saying is, she's back next season, and I want more from her because when she's playing sharp, she's interesting to watch IS ALL.

The polls for [livejournal.com profile] numb3rswriteoff are open until tomorrow (Sunday) night, so please head over to the comm and read all the entries. Everyone has worked really hard on their pieces, and even if you don't vote, I think it's worth taking a look around to see what's being offered up.

I know it's conceited to love your own work, but I can't stop staring at this icon. It came out SO RIGHT. The colours! The crop! The slight blur due to motion! It's not even shippy, it's all business, and Megan - Diane Farr - looked awesome in that suit. Like I said, SHALLOW. That's all I'm eating tonight.

edit: I tend to remember most of the pertinent points of End of Watch because it's a good, plotty episode. I forget the Amita and Alan subplots because the first makes me a cringe a little (which is a shame because she brings some math-fu this episode) and the latter was mostly boring the first tie around, though cuter on the re-watch. I tend to remember the episode as such: Lt. Walker reappears because of a lost cop and the episode NEVER ENDS. Seriously, it has, like, three endings!

The thing that I forgot? The ending makes me BAWL LIKE A SMALL CHILD. I feel so badly for Walker, and having now seen The Janus List, it makes me feel for Don, too, who tries so hard to comfort Walker but can't. And the song is Bon Jovi, Summer of '69. I get the sense that it's supposed to be a poignant but uplifting end to the episode becase they got the guy, but that song makes me nostalgic and weepy! And WALKER, my god. "I just wish I could remember that song." MAN. IN TEARS.
