Am up relatively early considering I went to sleep at 3am. Sent my fic off to some betas and then promptly regretted doing that. (That's generally my default reaction to that move, though.) Before that, The Flatmate and I were in T's room compiling love/hate lists. My hate list included: Mary Poppins, an overabundance of peas in veggie fingers, and cats. My love list included: flip-flops, The Flatmate's hair, and Thandie Newton. Had my housemates been fannishly inclined, Gibbs would obviously have been on that list.

Have my children's lit. presentation today. Am not too worried about it, though, because it's only 15 minutes between a group of four. Wrote up my section yesterday and geeked out because I was tracing the etymology of words like Yambe Akka, alethiometer and Æsahættr. I love that I can do that for something relevant in academia. So awesome. Anyway, the class is at midday but we're meeting at 11.30 to consolidate our notes, which means I actually have to leave around 11am. Sigh. But this is my final class of the year, which is fairly insane.

Other things what need doing: dissertation proposal (die, die, diiiie!); research for the kid lit essay; some revision of topics for On Reading. On Friday we're going to see The Zodiac Killer so that should be fun.

Also, finales have begun, zomg. I have Bones, CSI: NY and CM to watch. Bones surprised me at 3am because it was speedy, to say the very least.

And now off to air the room before I have to leave.
