{ the life you're imagining. }
May. 14th, 2007 10:10 pmSo, I woke up randomly anxious this morning which hasn't happened for quite some time and thus threw me for a loop, possibly because I woke up pretty late. Tried to wash my hair but the shower wasn't draining so spent a lot of time trying to angle away from the crazy too hot/too cold shower whilst balancing on the edge of the water basin. Niiice.
Put on laundry, spent some time spamming
twincy and then suddenly it was early afternoon. Decided I should buy real food so The Flatmate and I went to Waitrose. Bought: real food and cleaning things. Got back to the house without being rained on (huzzah!) and then decided that I wasn't going to tackle just my room and the bathroom but the whole house. Can't cook real food if the kitchen is a tip. Thus, The Flatmate and I: took out the recycling, changed the vacuum bag, vacuumed the kitchen/dining room, cleaned the kitchenettes, the whole of the downstairs hall, the staircase, the bathroom, the upstairs hall and my room. I moved my dresser, cleared my desk, vacuumed, got rid of all the scraps of paper that litter my room and then messed around for a few hours whilst The Flatmate and T went to donate blood.
When they returned, we decided to put the blockage-remover to the test and poured half the contents into the shower drain (supposed to pour the whole lot but it wasn't really going down, just pooling outside the drain instead). Then went downstairs to cook. My food came out damn good so that was awesome. Returned to find that the blockage-remover was true to its name and did an excellent job. Went back downstairs to sit with The Flatmate whilst she ate. And now I'm sitting here updating instead of writing the 400 words I need to get done for the presentation we're giving on Thursday.

Facebook freaks me the fuck out a lot of the time especially because in the past seven days I've spoken to two people I'd never normally talk to. One is my cousin's cousin who is apparently in Soton somewhere; the other is a different cousin's cousin from the London set with whom I rarely exchange words. Except FB sort of makes it all right for him to leave me messages and it's disconcerting because he's talking to me like him and his would ever pay attention to me if I was local, which is complete BS.

Spent some time looking at post-grad options today. This is my 8th venture into this topic and it ended the same way the previous 7 times did: with me closing the browser. Not only the browser with the website on, but every single open window. What can I say? I'm compulsive.

Children's lit. group meeting tomorrow to discuss aforementioned project. I'm going to use the time in the library to do some research for the essay I need to write. It's not due for a fortnight, but I'd like to be prepared for once, especially considering my dissertation proposal is due the same day.
Speaking of, need to mail my personal tutor to make an appointment to see him re: dissertation idea. I'm lucky because my PT is the guy who is most likely to be my subject support and he's this lovely Scotsman with whom I enjoy many a light conversation.

I have loads of fandom to talk about (and I'm still playing catch-up, aie) and I will likely get there at the end of the week. Right now I just need to quickly do this presentation thing so that it's ready for the meeting tomorrow.

Date: 2007-05-14 09:55 pm (UTC)Also: yay, spam; yay, cleaning (no, really)! I'm still liking FB but I only have LJ people on there, so, you know. People I like, more opportunity to spam therewith.
Also: Dark Angel 1.06, Logan and his morally ambiguous ex-wife and oh, the angst suits him so. As does the innuendo. Oh, Logan. OH, WEATHERLY. !

Date: 2007-05-14 10:30 pm (UTC)Hee, you're like me: you look a the interesting jobs for which you are likely underqualified. lolz.
No, cleaning does equal yay, but normally that just means being anal about organisation of book titles. I hate dealing with grimy things. I've washed my hands so many times today, and I'm having difficulty breathing because of all the dust, heh. Student housing can be such a bitch because the landlords don't bother doing things like changing the carpets every five-to-ten years.
Heeee! I love how the woman ends up hitting on OC. Oh, Logan.
