{ so I pushed you a little bit more. }
Apr. 18th, 2007 04:12 pmAnother productive day, and sunny, too, without being sweltering. Double lecture on reading romance literature after which I went to the charity shop and bought a Mills and Boon book called Taken by the Sheik. Then read the whole thing. That's an hour and a half of my life that I will never get back. (For those not paying attention: it's for tomorrow's seminar; low brow romance lit.) I have more to say about today's lecture and what it means to write female protagonists in their various constructions but frankly, it's much too pretty a day for me to go there just yet. Maybe tonight.
This evening The Flatmate and I are going to see Sunshine. EXCITED. Because, yes, gorgeous cinematography, and MICHELLE YEOH. I've been yenning for this one for a while now.
Just to make the fangirling complete,
hires_hotties had pictures of Thandie at the IWC Da Vinci Launch Party where she performed in a short play. She's so tiny and pretty; I've heard that the performance was excellent, too.

For those of you following the saga of the posters: both The Rat Pack and The Men Eating Lunch Above New York fell on me last night. So I was all 'fuck it', and just pinned them up instead.

I have about ten more drabbles to write and then I can post at last. I think I have enough to work on my
numb3rs_het fic now, and some inspiration for the
femgenficathon one, too. And I'm thinking about running the MFFF again just because it was fun. So: all go.

I still have Friday's Raines to finish, as well as the first three episodes of Drive. Am feeling oddly apathetic towards actual fannish pursuits.

Good luck with the writing! And if the MFFF == the ficathon you held last year, I'd be on board with a rerun. Especially since I backed out of entering last year, even though you gave me a fantastic quote. (Last summer was the summer of the ficathon entries that never were.)
*hugs you*

Date: 2007-04-18 04:12 pm (UTC)Question, why two '=' ? And yes, it is, so I need to find a ton of prompts to play with.
*hugs* Did I reply to the email you sent? I'm not entirely certain I did. I'm going to do that now. How was the rest of today?

Date: 2007-04-18 04:29 pm (UTC)I strike again with the cryptic typography? Hee. It's a PHP thing and my using it is nothing if not pretentious because I've never fully understood PHP. There's a difference between '=' and '==' in my head but I don't know if I can explain it, and I'm pretty sure it's not interesting enough to try.
You didn't. The rest of today was lazy and unproductive and uh. I'm writing porn now? (And I have an unexplained yearning for Poland, of all places.)

Date: 2007-04-18 04:49 pm (UTC)Oh, you totally should. I'm all for subtle semantics. ! (I only use php to rotate images, lolz.)
...okay. And, okay? Poland? (Ilu, you nutter.)

Date: 2007-04-18 05:20 pm (UTC)2855%; I meant to start it before dinner so it'd be done by the time I got back, but the internets were being hostile.)I think '=' denotes 'is', but '==' denotes 'is the same as'. If, say, x = y, then x is y but it x doesn't define y (and vice versa). If x == y, the two are synonymous and interchangeable. Say, Gibbs = inexplicably hot, Gibbs == team leader. But I don't use the two like that consistently enough for it to matter, really.
It's more the aftermath of porn, really. But I won't tease further because again, I'll likely discard or lose it in a few days. (Poland because I was thinking of Krakow, and then I was thinking of the nature reserve I visited when I was there. And camping in sub-zero temperatures. Uh, Celsius, obv. Not that I enjoyed that at the time, but I'd like to go camping.)
