I've been wondering about doing a flist cut for ages but I haven't bothered if only because even though I suck at commenting, I read pretty intensely and it seemed moot point. (It doesn't really help that my flist has recently been taken over by fashion comms, heh.) But I figured there are probably people who skim me, and I don't think I've ever said this before but friend and defriend at will. I figure there are a couple of people I will be all "whoa, what?" over, but no hard feelings. Every day is defriending amnesty. Do it when you want to.

In that vein: I might make one myself. I probably won't, though, because that involves effort.

I need to make myself userpics for this damn show.

Oh, Joey Icecream, what man art thou? Seriously, I loved how the baic premise/theme of this episode made the whole story crazied up. Also: JOEY WAS NOT THERE. OR WAS HE?

Joey: You think he dropped it when you had him tied up down here?
Jimmy: When who had who tied up down where?
Joey: No idea.

I'm beginning to think that Joey edits himself out of important parts of the narrative. That or he's just awfully convenient. Like, why do the Donnellys care about him anyway? I mean, as opposed to anyone else in the neighbourhood? Is this because of the whole, "I always wanted brothers like that" schtick? And how much do we take what Joey says as written? I think we have to have faith in a lot of it because I think it would be quite the cheat to get to a resolution and find out he's been bullshitting us all this time. But there are minor details, I'm sure, that he's been twisting. I do think he exists - I didn't before the scene where he and Jimmy go to collect the money - but I wonder how important he is and how far I'm misreading his ambiguity.

Also, also: goddammit, Jenny. I like this character! And yet this week was not for the win. Well, the end of this week's episode was not for the win. Speaking of, I love Tommy's conflict with Huey's kid, and his face-off with Dokey. (Hee: Hokey Pokey Dokey! I am five, obvs.)

Have I mentioned, yet, how awesome Kate Mulgrew is? See the subject. And Kevin was hilarious in this episode. I loved Jimmy waking up and being all, "Why are you sleeping here? This is a BAR!" even though this is the second time we've seen him wake there. Which was the point, I know, but still: heh.

I really want a new episode yesterday, but whatever. I'll get over it, I'm sure. I can just watch this episode again and cap as I go.

In other fandom news, I've been reading Stargate fanfiction and I'm totally psyched that there is new NCIS and The Unit tonight. Watched Prison Break last night - on a real TV (that will never get old)! - with The Dad which is always a trying experience. Except I'm better at condensing plot now so it wasn't so bad.

Have taken c.10 pictures of the crazy weather in the past couple of days. Will post them eventually, as well as the photos from the meme. You can still play if you'd like.

Finished Northern Lights today - need to get my hands on a copy of The Subtle Knife. Thankfully I still have my copy of The Amber Spyglass. I really enjoyed re-reading Northern Lights, and I was still really into it, even though I was remembering as I read it. I find Harry Potter to be a case of intellectual laziness which needs a lot of editing before I give too much of a damn, but I thought this one was pared down pretty well, and played with difficult ideas in an interesting, non-didactic, not-patronising way.

Hey there, I meant to ask - how was Omid Djalili? I wish I'd gone to see him again - I've never laughed so hard in my life when I saw him last year!

He was awesome, seriously amazing. The Flatmate and I had an outrageous evening - and now I can't stop doing the godzilla noise, lol.

Yes, that one! Hilarious and scarily addictive sound, lol. Also, if you spend enough time at our hous, you'll hear me or the TF yell, "BASTARD!" randomly. I'm giggling just thinking about it!

I thought so - last week's was a wee bit slow.

I don't know; the kid seems to like him. It'll be a problem later, I reckon.

Ooh. I get to use one of my new icons!
