With the end of term fast approaching (Friday!), I'm hard pressed to get my reading done. I'm leaving my notes until the break so that I can get them done in one swoop (I have this week's and last week's to do) and I'm just enjoying the spate of nice weather that we're having. Have to keep reminding myself that I have to go to class - I have a double lecture at 11am.

Caught up with the UK aring of Prison Break - I can watch the next four episodes (2x10-2x13) on a real television, woo. I'll say this for 2x08, I really enjoyed watching Sara deciphering those codes. Some things never change, eh? The transition to 2x09 was awkward, mostly because we had no idea where Michael was going. I'm a little disappointed that Mahone hs become such an obvious bad guy. Oh, now we have to hate him because he's a murderer. How much more interesting would it have been if he'd been an honest-to-god, good-guy who was obsessed with catching Michael who - hey - also good? Or, you know, 'good'. Anyway, Tweener's death was shocking and horrible; C-note's family story was fairly blah. I loved Michael psyching Mahone out, almost as much as I liked Mahone doing it to him in 2x01. Mostly, though, I miss the prison environment, and that claustrophobia you get from it. T-Bag? Oh, whatever. I only really like him when he's being considerably fucked up wich says something about people like me.

I also watched The Black Donnellys which I felt slowed down a bit this episode. The scene with Jenny outside the bar? "I never thought you' be someone who'd make me feel this way" or something like that? That was the moment when this character - with so much potential - became her stereotype, which is a shame. I still like her but I was really itching for her to make one of those big decisions.

KEVIN. Oh, Kevin. "Kosher wine?" Hee.

Jimmy is irritating but I can take that because I get the idea that he's supposed to be; his crack-head girlfriend reminds me of one of the girls in my lit. group, so that was amusing for a little while. I love Kirk Acevedo and have done since Law & Order, 7x02, Corruption, so no matter how seedy his character is, I think I'll be there.

As for Tommy. Damn. On the one had the pilot did an excellent job of making me feel for him as a protagonist. On the other hand, the more mistakes he makes (thinking that he has to make them), the more I think he's a bit of an idiot. Which is a shame because I'm really interested in the mess that's running around his head - his obligations to his brother, to god, to his mother. Oh, speaking of, KATE MULGREW FOR THE WIN. "I love your brother, but we don't need his trouble." Heh. Anyway, I'll be watching again next week because despite my bitching, it's a good show.

Saw Battlestar Galactica - probably should have paid more attention because I didn' quite understand the resolution of the episode, but whatever. One thing I did notice was the crazy level of hoyay! between Anders and Apollo which makes me strangely gleeful. All this time we though Starbuck made them hate each other. Whatever. lolz.

Re-watched Numb3rs, 3x17, One Hour and made some caps. I'm feeling good about Numb3rs again so I'm going to go back to iconning episodes that I've missed. Having seen 3x18, the ending was distressing but inevitable. I hope that wasn't it, though; I hope Megan actually gets to tell someone before she actually leaves for this thing. You know, re-watching One Hour, they're actually fabulously good at hiding her pregnancy. I mean, other than the obvious signs around her face, the obstructions aren't as forced as you might think and she isn't just sitting down all episode, she's standing up, leaning across tables and what have you. She was even in the field in 3x18, so I'm really impressed with the way in which they've been dealing with it. She's due pretty soon, so keeping my ear to the ground. But, yes: screencaps, icons, yay.

The series finale of Stargate today - NO SPOILERS PLEASE. Not until I've seen the damn thing. Please&thankyou.

So, am re-reading Northern Lights, slowly remembering the story and picking up on details that I never saw the first time around. Like how when Lyra is watching Ma Costa (the gypsy) freak out about her missing child, she throws down her cigarette. Yeah. I don't even know.

It's good though, well-written and pretty intense from the get go. Edited to specific information but also with a good idea of where it's going, even this early on in the trilogy.

GIP! Also: I love this song.

I agree with you about Numb3rs, how they hide Diane Farr's pregnancy. It was really sad that they sent her home. There aren't many more episodes left of the season, so I'm sure we will see her back for the first episode of the 4th season. They did a cool way of getting Megan back into the field and disguising her belly at the same time.
