I love L&O. I love, love, love it. So well written, so well acted, consistently good plots - consistent plots and consistent characterisation. (This franchise has my three favourite shows ever and yet I never get to see them. *sadface*)
Some SGA-oriented parts of my f'list are now converting to CSI:NY and it kills me because apparently, I am still bitter about this show. (Plus they're all shipping such things as Mac/Danny and Mac/Flack, which, yick?)
Oh, there's no doubt about it being good, great, awesome. CI = hearts.
You should come back to the dark side. It'll never be as bad as Miami. UGH. (Hmm, I don't read those ships but yick isn't how I'd characterise it. Then again, neither is 'hot!!!')
(Mac/Danny is yick for me because of the whole power balance and the mentor/father-figure thing. Flack/Mac less so, but that's still a little weird. Possibly I just don't want to think about Mac in any romantic context. I watched an episode a few weeks ago and while it didn't fill me with rage, the case was SO RIDICULOUS OMG. But I still love the characters to some extent.)
I haven't seen CI in AGES, but Goren, oh Goren. Poor wounded puppy. Also?In addition? I have a little thing for Chris Noth.)
(OK, that makes sense. I have recently developed an intellectual crush on Gary Sinise for no apparent reason. I'm trying to wash it off. And NY actually fills me with real actual joy at random intervals which is so weird because I'm so snobby about my TV.)
Goren! Alex is also fairly kick ass when I consider her, but Goren has this tactile sensitivity that I have never been able to get over. Chris Noth = ftfw.
(I have this thing about power dynamics and shipping. Which is why Sam/Jack on SG-1 is somewhat squicky to me. See also: Hotch/Reid, House/Cameron, and the list goes one. Actually the only thing saving McKay/Sheppard in this respect is Rodney's utter disregard for authority.)
Curiously, Alex has never grown on me. You'd think she would. I'm crazy about Goren's speech pattern. (Which I'm now realising might be a key factor in my falling in love with a character: interesting/unusual speech patterns.)
(The gap between your entries and your comment replybox makes me want to go into lengthy CSS things. What I mean to say is, I had the same problem with a layout I did for powerof3, and I could probably help you fix it if needed?)
Okay, SG-1 finished downloading, so watching that, or part of it, now.
(I... don't? Or I don't always consider it. And when I do, it's not a bad thing. But hey, this time last year my big literary obsession was the idea of the Lolitaesque girlchildwoman so I'm not a good judge with this stuff.) (I don't like any of those pairings. NO! I lie! Sam/Jack. Or more specifically Sam/Jack angst from S2-6. I have no idea why that timeframe is so specific.) (Now there's a fandom full of batshit.)
I love Alex. I love her and Goren as a team. They have a fascinating (non-shippy) relationship. She surprises me at surprising intervals (heh) and I think she's good for Bobby. And oh, Bobby's mannerisms, his entire way of presenting himself, of articulating himself - I die happy.
Enjoy! I'm going to sleep, what with the hour being twelve. Almost. Talk tomorrow x
