I totally did laundry today; go me. However, having checked my bank account, it seems that I will not be going to see Transamerica on Tuesday, even if the ticket is only £2. Reason? Because I was apparently already into my overdraft when Dad put the money in the account and now I have exactly my rent left in there. My rent which is due a fortnight from now. I think I can make it work out so that if I take out £10 in a week, I can pay for food for a fortnight and then I'll be kosher, not to mention only £10 overdrawn.
The One Stop guy doesn't need more staff; my job interviews in the city went bust. I'm trying to get qualified in at least my proof-reading course by the end of the month, so maybe that will work. There's a position at Blockbusters that's on the other side of the city, so I'm going to see if I can (a) get there by bus and (b) GET THAT JOB but so far the outlook is grim. (Even the supermarkets don't need staff. Not even for the holidays! See my stress levels rise through the roof.)
Anyway, I have an hour before I have to settle down to analyse Casablanca. It's basically meta! except I have to be technical, coherent and write in proper sentences. But still. ! I read more Ulysses whilst watching my laundry this morning, and I find that I love it more every time I pick it up. I just have to find the time and the motivation to do that. (I will confess to often not having a clue what is happening, or what people are talking about, but that resolves itself after a while.)
OK, I'm off to chill until 1pm. Then to do work. :(

Date: 2006-11-11 01:58 pm (UTC)(Any music is yay, as far as I'm concerned. Alas, I'm kind of stuck on Joni Mitchell right now. All other songs/artists go a bit under the radar atm.)

Date: 2006-11-11 03:33 pm (UTC)(Which of the Alison Krauss? As I said, 'Restless' = hearts. I love 'The Scarlet Tide' is also gorgeous. My folk is mostly indie folk, though. I'm bad with assigning genres to artists, but I think of Deb Talan/The Weepies, Kathleen Edwards, Fionn Regan, Tegan & Sara, Thea Gilmore, Marthat Wainwright as somewhat folksy, at least. Have you heard Deb Talan's solo work? The lyrics are amazing. Slightly less cutesy than The Weepies, more raw.)

Date: 2006-11-11 03:54 pm (UTC)(Much love. Oh, and good that you reminded me. I was supposed to d-load those tracks you posted. Actually, I listen to quite a lot of this kind of music, I'm just really picky because folk bores me easily. Not my favourite genre, but not anything I resent.)

Date: 2006-11-11 03:10 pm (UTC)Yeah, well, we are all with the woes in the monies department, I guess. I'm kinda mad that I went through the stress of interviews all for nothing? But things will improve! I hope.
Thank you for vibes and food :)
