Watching Weir jump the rails never fails to make me a giddy fangirl. Also, the following exchange always makes me smile:

Ronon: How did she know?
Teyla: Intuition.
Ronon: Alright, we need to split up. I'll take Sheppard; you go after Weir.
Teyla: Why?
Ronon: Because I know how he thinks - I don't have the slightest clue how she thinks.

I guess because I've been reading a lot of fanfiction lately with Weir and/or Ronon, and the general consensus is that Weir is pretty read-easy whilst Ronon is tough and silent. This piece of canon gold always makes me smile because Ronon basically has no strategem for working with Weir. (That much is fairly well underscored in fiction - she uses words, he uses weapons, blah blah cliche-cakes). I really like the idea that when they're close to being on the same footing (i.e. both using weapons), Ronon inds her unpredictable.

Other squee-worthy things noticed on repeat-viewings: Lizzie and Caldwell = happysigh; Lizzie & Lorne = happy!squee; LIZZIE + GUN = DEAD FANGIRL. Which I've said before but it bears repeating. I hella love this episode. Especially because Weir is "possessed" by the one of the two aliens who is less likeable, or rather, less honorable. That dynamic between her and Sheppard is never fully explored, sort of swept under the rug. I wish it wasn't so much.

Also, having re-watched Common Ground, this week's was the weakest of the Genii episodes which is a shame because normally these episodes showcase a really strong leadership figure in Weir. I like that she held her ground whatever was happening to Sheppard but it doesn't always ring true because she seems to chop and change her opinion on a week-by-week basis - to forsake Atlantis for onem, or not, etc, etc. I wish they'd make something concrete out of her character. A little bit of continuity would never hurt.

Randomly: mandysbitch has done a DVD-style commentary for Retina Burn by Penelopody and August, one of my all time favourite West Wing fanfics. It's CJ/Toby and I take it pretty much as canon. Check it out.

So true about being all over the place with Weir's character...its like one week she doesnt care what she does to aliens as long as her people and city are safe and the next week she's like "ooh no I cant hurt anybody!"

*rolls eyes*

Technically she should be like the second half, that's what her character was spose to be so either leave it like that or change it dont fuck around with it on a weekly basis...
