So, last night I didn't get to see Being John Malkovich because The Family was watching L&O reruns (omg yayz!) and then The Mother and I watched The Avengers.

OH MY GOD. Everyone should watch this show. I forgot how cheesily fabulous it is. John Steed & Emma Peel, the gratuitous flirting, the detecting and near-mortal peril. EVERYONE should watch this show and then write awesome fanfiction and stuff.

(IT WAS SO GOOD. WATCH IT !!!)

Anyway, I've decided that I have to do a pimpage post for the show with screencaps and everything. Just you wait. I will convert you all. Mwhahahahaha!

I've always loved the show but I so rarely get the chance to see it. And then BBC4 was airing it! *excited* (This is the m-appeal story, yes? Much love).

I'm watching on Friday nights, so that's okay. I'm collecting pictures and quotes andf favourite episodes so that I can pimp out to my flist. *loves*

Yes that's the story. I have a couple of books in the attic, episode guides to the whole series, and you reminded me - I wrote a script for an episode when I was 18! As an exercise in writing for a screenwriter pal of mine because that's the career I wanted at that age. It was fun but I made the mistake of separating Emma and Steed for several scenes which, despite the show often doing the same, destroyed the dynamic which made the series so special. I also liked Tara King, although she wasn't a patch on Emma Peel. Never liked Cathy Gale, despite her being modelled, in part, on Margaret Mead of all people.
