May. 19th, 2006 03:42 pmGUUUUUUYS! IT'S EUROVISION TIME! I love Eurovision! It's so craptastic! Run down of the entries for Saturday's show which I'll probably end up watching online.
Oh god, Belarus.
Belgium - traditional EV pop.
Love the music for Bosnia&Herzegovina.
Bulgaria - sounds like it's going to be interesting and then really isn't.
Ha, Croatia! Fucking love. It sounds a wee bit like Ruslana and no-one is going to like it, methinks.
Cyprus. Oh dear.
Denmark - Yo, cute!
Estonia - Boring. I mean, it's listenable but so bog standard.
Finland - OH MY GOD. I mean, the girl in the video is very pretty and the music is listenable but OH MY GOD. This is crack. I feel like I'm watching Buffy.
France - I could listen to this one. What? I have a thing for French and the music reminds me of a poptastic Natalie Imbruglia.
FYR Macedonia -? Don't know. Vid-link didn't work.
Germany - They's TEXANS. I know this because it's Texas Lightning.
Greece - ? Ditto FYR Macedonia.
Iceland - Hmm, poptastic. Not EV but cute. Oh, wait, the chorus begs to differ. Oh god.
Ireland - Aw. But cam ireland wing it? This number's a bit sadsome. Cute, though.
Israel - Oh wow. Pop idol.
Latvia - Love that vocal play! I don't know if the EV crowd will go for it but the cleverest song to hit EV in years.
Lithuania - OMG. No - OMG. It's like when Westlife sang for comic relief or the panda patrol or whatever that was. I kinda like that they've forgone songs for the sake of songs and are literally begging for votes. It's like songs for the World Cup.
Malta - this guy is not an EV virgin, the BBC site is desperate for me to know. Hmm, don't really care. Song is bounceable. Kinda Steps, but remixed.
Moldova - First off, where is Moldova? Oh, is it bad that I love thsi song? Yes; yes, it probably is. Apparently this guy is from O-Zone who were, I believe, the trio to guve us Dragostea Din Tei, a song to which I once knew all the words. I know. I KNOW.
Monaco - "The Co-Co dance"? Oh no.
Netherlands - Oh, cute! Awesome Spanish sound that I'm a sucker for. It's liek a white Destiny's Child, except with bongos.
Norway - Ooh, violin. Pure EV, and very cute. I like it but I warn you that it's pure pop. It's also called "Elves dance". Yeah.
Poland - The intro music is awesome. Very EV, very pop. The rap will nto be popular. "Gasolina" wtf? Oh, what a performance. God, shield my eyes.
Portugal - OH GOD NO.
Romania - Very modern pop. Could be a dance track and would be very popular. I like it.
Russia - Again, very pop, but this *is* EV. I would listen to this. But that's me. It's embarassing how much I like EV.
Slovenia - Ooh, piano. OK, more boy pop, although this seems geared towards pop ballad. OH GOD THE CHORUS: SO EV!
Spain - "Las Ketchup"? No.
Sweden. Didn't Celine Dion start off by singing for Sweden in EV? Carola is not an EV virgin and I'd know that without the caption because this song is very EV.
Switzerland - Oh, it IS Steps. The song is about...oh no. World Salvation. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for World Salvation but these guys are...oh man. Next song!
Turkey - Ooh, shiny. I feel like I'm in disco town. Also, it sound slike it's sampling a Spice Girls track. Next!
Ukraine - Ruslana (Wild Dances) was a Ukraine winner a couple of years ago that I loved so much and still own, actually, because it was fucking awesome. This is, again, a passable song for poptrash. It reminds me of music we were getting from '95-'97.
UK - I've not heard this. OH MY GOD NO. NO. Nil points! A rap? What were they thinking? And who voted for this dren? OH GOD HOW DO I TURN IT OFF?

Date: 2006-05-20 02:23 am (UTC)Sorry, the only thing I remember about the German entry is that it was by Texans. It's better than the British entry, though, which is abhorrent,
