{ SGA: 220, S2 finale }
May. 18th, 2006 04:45 pmI haven't seen all of the episode just yet but I have a query. Surely turning the Wraith into humans then makes the turned Wraith SGA's responsibility? I mean, if the Atlantis folk are, you know, protecting the humans they can find, doesn't the onus now fall on them to save the turned wraith from being fed upon? I mean, in Michael it seemed to me that the idea was to turn them all into humans and thus stop the war (because if they don't need to feed on humans, they wouldn't need to cull anymore). But this...makes no sense. Also, just blithely handing over the retrovirus information to Michael and the Mechanics wraith seems to me like a REALLY BAD IDEA because wasn't the whole Teyla storyline about exactly this kind of testing going wrong, except on the Wraith side? (That's Teyla's story, right? About the test subjects who ended up being able to connect to the Wraith psychic network?) What I'm saying, is, if you give the Wraith this information, can't they alter it to make the humans on Atlantis into wraith and thus make them readily give up access to Earth? Alternatively, any biodiversity information they give out can ultimately come back to bite them in the hind if the Wraith use that information against the Atlanteans (Atlantians?)
I...this DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.
I guess I'll go watch the rest of the episode now.
ETA: Well, THAT was stupid. Who didn't see that coming? But I do wonder how they'll get out of it. In other news, The Flatmate is dripping homemade ice lolly ALL OVER THE BED HER PJS. Yes, it is 6pm.
