This morning's lecture was really good. I spoke to the lecturer beforehand (he was asking me what I'd thought of the text) and then to a classmate afterwards and my head was buzzing.

I just finished replying to the meta post. It's been an amazing experience and one that's made me think really hard about my position on writing and fanfiction. I always thought that my position would be more flexible, more compromising but that simply hasn't been the case, heh. Debates get my blood up and it's been a long time since I've done this. In that time I've become so non-confrontational that it was difficult to read the replies I got without having a knee-jerk defensive reaction and backtrack over my arguments. I may have ended up doing that anyway. Honestly? The comments peturbed me, made me panic a little. But I guess that's what standing my ground is because I know now that whether people agree with me or not, I have a solid position. I'm not going to argue it further (whoa, tension plus stress plus M equal nervous breakdown) but I'm glad I know where I stand, at least.

Now, to calm me down, I'm going to have lunch and then watch three episodes of Atlantis. Woo! I have other stuff that needs doing - a letter to write, notes to write up, ducks to post - but it's nothing that can't wait, thankfully.

I think you should be proud of the quality of the comments you got via [livejournal.com profile] metafandom which were a tribute to the (inciteful!)intelligence of your post. The most I ever got from them was a "Guh! I heart slash!" standard of response. You reap what you sow, and all that.
