May. 12th, 2006 10:40 amAfter last week's awesome seminar, this week's was god awful. That is because I was sat with imbeciles. To console myself I'm going to spend the next two hours writing fic.
eta: No, apparently I'm going to spend a good portion of that time replying to the comments on the meta post. Go flist!

Date: 2006-05-12 04:00 am (UTC)In the spirit of your advice to write what we love, I'm having huge fun spinning out the crack House/Constantine crossover. Now no-one can accuse me of bowing to fandom feedback pressure in that regard, can they?!

Date: 2006-05-12 04:09 am (UTC)Thanks; you didn't need to do that, but it should be interesting to see what other people think. It will also be interesting to see if I can deal with debating people who are not on my much-cherished flist. *panics a bit*
I love crack!fic; it's like parody, but not. It's the funny, light side of fandom and is good for the soul.

Date: 2006-05-12 04:13 am (UTC)I've never really understood what crack!fic was before, or why it existed even. But I can say that if it wasn't for the comfort-zone implied by that tag, i.e. letting me of the hook in terms of canon/critique, I'd not have attempted to write House fic of any kind. I actually didn't think I could pull it off. So, hurray for crack!fic allowing me to play without danger of hurting myself. Crack is like that bouncy black rubber stuff they put down in playgrounds so that kids can fall off roundabouts without breaking bones.
