To anyone who appreciates good, solid prose (and frankly, that should be everyone on the flist because dude, why do I know you else?) go and read this beautiful work by my most awesome crack dealer [livejournal.com profile] wliberation. In seriousness, this is the good stuff, guys. It is that part of fandom in which you wish you could live forever, the place where the true blue is grown. Check it out and then tell her how wonderful it is and how wonderful she is. GO AND READ THE WONDERFULLY SOLID PROSE.

Nah, you're just...adorkable :)

Funny mixes are great except I can think of a total of two songs that I would put in a funny mix. That being said, if we did a serious one, we'd need tracks that epitomise The Carson. *difficult*

:)

Yeah, it is difficult. But I'm sure we can figure something out. And no matter how much the perfectionist in me (that bitch) is screaming in agony, it does not have to be perfect. So I think we can do alright even with the short notice.

Okay, so, I've been going through my files and picking out songs that might possibly fit. Have to check those out properly later, but for now, here are two songs that might be alright.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Hidden Song
Okay, so this was originally on the soundtrack of The Never-Ending Fic (yes, I have a soundtrack, don't roll your eyes *g*), and in my head, it's Rodney's serenade to Carson on the things that happen in the fic, so I'm not sure how well (if at all) it could work for this purpose. As my judgement is ruined by the previous assosiation, I'll leave it for you to decide.

Kings of Convinience - Live Long
Well, we want him to live long, don't we? How profound.

I'll probably have more songs when I get back from work.

I will have to first turn my brain off from "I Need Some Fine Wine" (I think you gave me that one? THANK YOU. My love for this track knows no sane bounds) and switch to Carson Radio.

Ooh. *downloads*

Have fun with work, btw. And don't hurt your back. Remember to stretch! :P

Heh. (I did give you that. It is a wonderful song, yes indeed. Also, ditto, because you gave me In The Sun, and I have been listening to that like non-stop because oh, the melody and flow and the fact that the godness in it doesn't bother me which is, well, shocking.)

*stretches*

Ohhhh. In The Sun. Isn't it absoultely wonderful? And do you feel a little desperate as the song goes through the second verse? (That could just be me. My reaction to most songs I like is this quiet, niggling sense of wanting. It's bizarre).

No, it's not just you. It gets me into this... misty place where things are quietly desperate and sort of needy, and, well, I can't explain it, but yes, it is such a fantastic song filled with such strong emotion that... I'm just hypnotized by it.

I have two other versions of it. I think I gave you the live one which means there's the studio version and then Howie Day's version. The latter turns the notes down and so doesn't haunt in quite the same way; it feels sadder. The guitar work is pretty awesome.

Want?

Sure, why not. But I must say, I really, really adore this version, I do.

Hidden Song? That sound is pure sex. I do not lie. It is.

OK, I can't tell by the song labels which version is which so I'm sending both REM/Coldplay versions.

[one] (http://www.sendspace.com/file/rysby5)
[two] (http://www.sendspace.com/file/voq3ns)
[howie day] (http://www.sendspace.com/file/ugahjg)
[joseph arthur] (http://www.sendspace.com/file/587jzq) I found another version that I didn't even know I had. But the one I sent you first is the best.
