In other news, Walk the Line is good but not the best movie I've seen this year. It's not that I don't like the performances (both Phoenix and Witherspoon were very good, even though I prefer the former to the latter in this particuarly movie), and I do like Johnny Cash's music; it's just... well, it's so one-sided and so Hollywood. I wanted more on the music and it was just another average sex, drugs, rock'n'roll biopic. It's nothing new. That being said, it is a good film. Just not brilliant.

I squeed all through the trailers though: Good Night & Good Luck is finally in the UK! And I will definitely be going to see Imagine You & Me (or Me & You, I forget). Tonight we're going to campus to see Comme Une Image which should also be awesome.

Oh, work this morning. Turned out to be okay getting up, and unloading is quicker than packing. I'm getting better at it, so huzzah! And my muscles don't hurt anymore which is awesome. All three of my seminars are tomorrow so no work, but I do have to log off and do my class work this afternoon. Now, if only I could get my hands on a copy of Moll Flanders. And the hist.lit. anthology. I've ordered them, I just need them to turn up already. Oh, buggeration. Heh, I still have lecture notes for hist. lit. and crit. theory to write up. Rarr. Might have to skip Comme Une Image.

I am loving this album.

Watched SPN last night and you know what? I don't even really care anymore. It was an average episode; definitely better than Route Triple Six. I just... ok, I'm more partial to Dean (because Ackles is so pretty [/shallow]) but if he had the Charmed-thing going on, it wouldn't be a thing at all, would it? I mean, they wouldn't have a plot; he'd be all in denial about it. I'd hate it; I like that he's the practical hands-on, go-to guy. The whole "powers" storyline is so lame; I feel like the producers were waiting for teh shwo to be cut and introduced all this bizarre mytharc shit midseason when the show was actually fairly successful. What happened to our story of the week?! The whole...weird-blonde-with-blood, Sam-is-actually-Piper-Halliwell stuff is just daft and is making the show so generic. The show used to be about urban legends! Ooh, scary fire-consuming-women-on-ceiling-hunting-brothers was so cool! And ohnoes where's dad?! I love that stuff. USE IT. Seriously, trash all this bullshit powers stuff and get back to the storytelling.

That being said, I'm also totally glad that it's Sam and not Dean because whatever. I did enjoy the episode until it became The Sam-Winchester-loves-all Hour. I am so in the minority but I'd prefer week-to-week plots, a quiet mytharc (a la ou est papa?) and more week-on-week brother interaction (pop culture references and ironic self-awareness ahoy!). This is just... so WB. It could be such a clever show and I feel both actors' talents are being monumentally wasted. SIGHDOM!

OK, better start working. And this weekend, I really need to try and finish that goddamn ficathon entry.
