The Church freaks me out
Aug. 17th, 2004 10:46 amEvery show, every bloody time there's something about the church and whilst I tend to love the episodes, God (excuse me, I'm about to blaspheme) freaks me the hell out. Bad-doing nuns and priests freak me the hell out. And yesterday's WaT?
Well, there was Danny who I love more every time I see him and because PM wasn't taking up screen time (S2, Ep 2) we got to see a cartload of Vivian (*grins*) and a pre-ending that made me smile. The actual ending...well, I have en entire rant about that but I'm not going to indulge because I need to get back to academia and finish writing up my coursework.
Argh. Ok, I love YTDaW. I do. I'm a member but I lurk; I tend not to post. And this is why!!! I'm a shipper. To be more precise, I'm 100% for GSR. I'm not so great with the JS 'ship but so saying that, I go to YTDaW for the CSI-scoop and little else.
The people on this site are, on teh whole, brilliant but my god! If you don't agree with their ship, they go a little bite-back on you. I posted for the first time in a year or so and I posted in defence of sobell who is our snarky neighbourhood TWoPper. Who isn't shippy at all. But I like her snark and she's not being serious. Ok, she's fallen a little out of love with the show - who hasn't? It's not getting better; it's still goo dthough. My annoyance was that these people hate on those who don't follow the ship! I agree with some of their points; I'm mostly irritated by these people who can't see that TWoP is supposed to be full of snark. That's their job! [/rant]
Jeez.
Put it this way, I'm not going to be posting in a contro-thread ever again.
I should go work now.
ETA: I watched Waking the Dead last night. Well, half of it. Hee. I love British shows for this one reason - they have the guts to kill off a major character and make it work. So saying that, whilst the show was interesting and engaging, the dialogue lacked panache and was irritatingly flat at times. H!ITG! Kenny from 1,000 Acres of Sky. Hee. Man, can that guy act! However, in a vein similar to US shows, it should be noted that if you're intimately involved with a case, they tend to pull you out of it so as not to compromise the investigation. Take note. Please.
