It's 8.30-ish and I'm actually awake. I KNOW. It's insane. I went to bed around 2am. This normally has me asleep until at least 9.30am. Craaazy.

Sometimes The Mother is so funny. Take for example the past two days. Yesterday she ended up not having to go to work because The Dad called in a kid to do her shift. Bonus free time! This morning, I went down to get a glass of milk and found her eating breakfast. Friday mornings are delivery mornings so she's usually at work. So I'm all, shouldn't you be elsewhere? Apparently, that kid has been called in again, so she has most of the day off.

M: How are you winging this?!
Mum: I don't know. Magic!

I started Alice in Wonderland yesterday. Three chapters gone. I could read the thing in half a day but as per always, I don't much give a damn.

New CSI, Grey's Anatomy and Supernatural. Therefore, first order of the day is to watch last week's Supernatural. Last night I watched the Sam-centric, AU episode of SG-1 and parts of the Teyla-centric SG:A (so I need to finish that, too.) Also made time to watch Grey's and listen to both the podcast and the Battlestar podcast. Later today: Bones, more of the Stargates, and this week's Studio 60. That may or may not be all. I think The Sister and I are going to watch Little Miss Sunshine (because we're both too broke to go to the cinemas, lolz.)

Speaking of last night, had a dream in which Mark Harmon and my latest celebrity crush had coffee together. SURREAL. My brain was obviously on overload.

It seems that I have taken to writing my journal entries in sections. BIZARRE.

I have many, many issues with X-Men: The Last Stand and not all of them stem from my (small) knowledge of comic canon. A lot of them stem from the gratuitous nature of the deaths, the ending, and the fact that the film didn't make sense in its own medium, let alone in its wider canon.

Phoenix, X-3 itself and other issues. )

So I was disappointed. The first film was quite good, and whilst the second film didn't measure up, it wasn't a bad watch. You could watch it as a stand-alone. But I just don't think the third movie makes a lot of sense, and I don't know what its aims were. I certinly don't think it met any of them, unless the point was to be pointless which is all very indie and avante garde, but hardly appropriate when you consider who the film is marketed at. Just - I'm very disappointed.
