So, I've come to the conclusion that the fangirl who upset me is not a crazy at all. In fact, regardless of the fact that we have completely opposite views, I am on her side. Nobody made me read her post - I did it myself. And I was upset by the sentiment but honestly? Those were her evidenced opinions that she is perfectly entitled too. Why shouldn't she be allowed to voice them? The contention here is NOT the content of the post, more my reaction to it, which was wrong, by the way. I was very wrong. The real problem here is that in fandom you have onflicting views and not everyone is adult enough to deal with it. (Including me, apparently). Take, for example, the GSR crazies at YTDaW. I'm spoiler-free these days so I don't go to that site at all anymore. It's all very well that they're for the ship but they're rude to people who disagree with them. This is bad fandom, yo. There should be space for GSR, GCR, CWR - everything. But there isn't and those boards are very hostile towards alternatives.

That being said: if you don't like what's being said, stop going there. Which I have done. So yay me.

Numb3rs 2x13: Double Down )

Have to wait for Friday now. Sigh. In other news, first essay stressage is over. Am taking the day off, dammit. I'm too tired. I have a 2,000 word essay due a week today, on poetry this time. We'll start the torture again tomorrow. I also have to revise this week for my exam next Tuesday. Basic grammar, pronouns, articles and the translation of the text. Yeah. This should be interesting. Oh, one more thing: [livejournal.com profile] tja_rama is closed whilst end-of-semester crap goes on. Don't be alarmed, it'll be back up. I just need some space from the distractions.

Tonight the flatmate and I will be going to the cinema, probably to see Brokeback Mountain. That or Jarhead. I still want to see Memoirs, btw. All in time, I guess. OK. Off to do... oh, shit. Emails. Yeah.

So, my afternoon turned out to be fairly calming. The flatmate and I went to see Brokeback Mountain at the cinema, then had a meal at Frankie & Benny's. Fun was had. I don't have much to say about the movie except that Ennis' character, just as in the original story, intrigues me. It was a romance, touchingly done. It felt like more of an artsy movie than a hollywood flick. The ending breaks you if you get into it enough. Coming to the film from the story means you know what's going to happen but the film does the story justice. You come out afterwards and you have to take time to yourself.

My psych. tutor agree to be my second referee on my job application which was lovely for me. I have to make a to do list for tomorrow because things will get complicated otherwise. I've finally had a chance to wash my hair so I feel very clean now.

Oh, I read the most wonderful fic today. It's Numb3rs (Colby/David) and has a construct that I love in any fic. It's not conventional slash but on the heels of BM, it got to me just a little. There are some brilliant lines, too. Breaks in the Sequence by [livejournal.com profile] stillane.

Off to dress for bed and then watch CSI: NY :)
