How did I only find this out now?!
Apr. 12th, 2005 05:14 pmApril, apparently, is National Poetry Month. Why did I not know this?! As a result, I'm going to link to 11 poems and post a twelfth here. And everyday this month, I'm going to post another poem. Yes? Yes. I'll try not to link to Prufrock or Cope's Flowers again. I won't even link to Plath's Daddy, ok?

As Sweet by Wendy Cope
It's all because we're so alike -
Twin souls, we two.
We smile at the expression, yes,
And know it's true.
I told the shrink. He gave our love
A different name.
But he can call it what he likes -
It's still the same.
I long to see you, hear your voice,
My narcissistic object-choice.
I love that last couplet. I can't decide if the poem's funny or not, though.
