{ Yuletide IV! The One I Wasn't Going to Do. }

Hello! We're at the top of the run right now, but I'm still grateful you exist. My fandoms are not small, but also not often written in, and I'm glad we share even one of them. I hope the below is helpful. If not, please feel free to disregard. But most of all, thank you! I'm already excited to see what you come up with.

general things: I prefer character stories to relationship-centric ones, but to be honest, pretty much anything goes. I read het/gen/slash/femslash/multiple, and in the past year the list of things I will read has far outstripped the things I won't (seriously: I spent a good portion of this month seeking out mpreg. I DON'T KNOW) (I am not requesting mpreg). I hate character-bashing (especially lady-bashing), embarrassment, and gratuitous abuse.

Spooks.

This show is dear to me despite being fucking ridiculous. I watched all 10 series as they aired; I talked about it a lot; I looked at all the pretty pictures; I wrote my own fic. You can write almost anything and I will love it. The only things I beg you not to include are rape and/or Adam Carter. No, really. I can't stand him.

I really enjoy case-fic, but I also love character-centric stories; this is also a fandom which I feel would benefit from a leap of faith, so if you want to write everyone as people who own, run, and partake in a kosher bakery I WILL TAKE THAT GLADLY. Seriously, go mad. Maybe a wartime AU? Maybe everyone is secretly a robot except for Ros? Maybe Zafar, Dimitri and Tariq are in a bowling league? MAYBE EVERYONE HAS SUPERPOWERS! MAYBE EVERYONE HAS A DAEMON! GENDERSWAP! APOCALYPSE! BURLESQUE FANTASY!

Or maybe - just maybe - everyone is a depressed spy, trying to stay alive and not go insane because of the basic human things they have to do. I'm in the middle of posting something similar and I love to read the same from others.

The Hour.

OH MY GOSH, DID YOU SEE THIS SHOW THIS YEAR? How great was it?! Amazing?

I think my prompt was pretty much to the point, but let me be clear: ALL THE LIX STORM. Past, present, future. All of it. If you pick this fandom to write in, I will enjoy anything you put in front of me that embraces everything about her. I love competent women with ambition and feeling, and I think Anna Chancellor was fabulous as Lix. GIVE ME ALL THE FIC. I want it!

Scott and Bailey.

Every now and then a show comes along that just...gets it right. This is that show. I mean, there's a lot to it that's shallow, but that's part of it's well-rounded charm. Three amazing female leads in an intelligent drama. YES PLEASE.

I would prefer canon fic for this show, and anything that explores the relationships between these women. Maybe the evolution of Janet and Rachel's partnership, or Janet and Gill's long-standing friendship. Maybe a case fic? Or maybe six times they met up in the pub after a hard day's (week's? Month's?) work. I would really, really adore you if you attempted to write about Gill in any capacity because she swiftly became my favourite of the three, despite not always being at the forefront. But, seriously, if you write anything for this, I will be so, so pleased even at the attempt. What a brilliant show.

(Pssst! This episode was my favourite. Just so you know.)

Basically, THANK YOU. I hope you enjoy writing for me. If none of the above works for you, but you find something else that doesn't hit a no-no, then just go with it. I am grateful to you whatever happens. I think having fun is the most important thing.
