Can someone please explain to me how a person goes about calculating their GPA? It'll probably be redundant anyway, but just in case. Thanks in advance.

Poll 2 is up at duck_cheer. Will probably take it down this evening.

Being Human continues to be both a chore to watch and also really quite good. I don't know what that is about, other than inherent laziness. I don't think it's a masterpiece of televisual writing, like most people who are into it, but it really is better than I let on.

And now it's time to run.

B = 3 .0
C = 2.0
D = 1.0
F = 0
You add up your final grades for the semester/year and divide by the number of classes. So, if you had 8 classes and got 4 As 3 Bs and a C, your GPA would be 3.75 out of a possible 4.0.
As I have no clue about UK schooling, I can't help you in figuring out what yours might be.

Date: 2011-02-02 06:47 pm (UTC)Some (most?) faculties here use "weighed" average, which means basically that if you have one course that is worth 2 credit points and another worth 5 credit points, the grade for the latter course has more effect on your GPA: what you basically do then is assign a grade for each study point earned, so that if you got a 4 for the 2 point course and a 3 for the 5 point course, you count (4x2+3x5)/7=3,29=GPA3 instead of (4+3)/2=3.5=GPA4. ETA: I think this is actually the official way we should do it (for the obvious reasons that different faculties have differently constructed modules and also that it's, well, more accurate), except my faculty seems to do it the other, easier way because they're lazy as fuck.
