After emo-puking everywhere, my day yesterday went pretty smoothly. My line manager/boss was in, and I had a clear list of things I needed to get sorted and most of which got done, so, you know. Productivity nearly always translates to capability. Can't get one without the other. Plus, my boss is hilarious, and a good shield for the rampant cynicism that sometimes flows through my team. (Note: she's my boss, not my team members' boss. Parallel work schemes, huzzah.) I got the referrals inbox cleaned out (~30 referrals in two days? What the hell, mid-June?) and am practically up to date on reassessment cases (21 of those yesterday), and I managed to type up the minutes to Tuesday's insanely long meeting. Some time before next Friday I have to make time to sort out my appraisal, but all-in-all, despite the fuckery of my commute, Wednesday turned out okay. So. Sorry for the wordy overspill?

The moral of this story is: use lists more, guys. Why did I ever stop? I do not know.

I tried running to catch my second bus yesterday but I was thwarted by the ticket barrier and then the traffic lights changed before I reached the bus. But I realised that because it goes to the bus depot before coming out again, I can probably catch it at a later stop. If I walk/run to said later stop. Which is what I'm going to try today! I am a little exited about this, as I was about the running thing yesterday, because if I manage to catch the earlier bus by this method then I will have nailed the ins-and-outs of this new commute in four days! Four days of trial-and-error! Of course, if I miss the bus, I will feel like a douche, but whatever.

Still tired, still haven't seen True Blood (not sure if I'm even going to bother to be quite honest), still trying to make time for the violence that is Valhalla Rising. Still not reading on the bus or at all. Have fallen out of the habit of writing to people, though most to whom I regularly send correspondence are currently away from their full-time addresses. I have not forgotten the postcard exchange.
