Back to work this morning. Uh, hurrah?

Whatever: have fired up (geddit? See what I did there?) my iPod with Ashes to Ashes, am about to brush my hair for the first time in a week, am wearing my favourite I MEAN BUSINESS top and plan to alphabetise like a motherfucker when I get to C. today. Plus other stuff that is required in my job. I don't just alphabetise, guys. In fact, I rarely alphabetise. Yep.

Every day is defriending amnesty. I won't get on anyone's case for it, though I have no want to cut anyone who is currently on my list. But. Also, am aware that sometimes someone can state a position and you can't swing with it, no matter the rest of their personality. So. There's that, too. I hope it's a quiet parting.

Oh, hey, Tory government. That was. Well. That happened. Which, on the one hand, was something of an inevitability, but I do feel a slice of resentment that it was painted like it wouldn't be for a couple of days there.

I'm not a Tory supporter, but I don't really take politics to the point where if you vote differently than I do then you're a terrible person. None of this, but how could you vote for xyz?! because I think that's bullshit and you vote the way you want to vote. That's the whole fucking point. BUT. I am still disappointed. I do think we need serious monetary cuts, cross-platform, and I think we need a serious tax hike, even though I am earning shit all and already pay a fair amount of tax. But I believe in taxation. So. I don't know if a Tory government is willing to pull up our socks. I think a Tory government is about the preservation of privilege, the rest be damned. But who knows. Maybe Cameron will prove otherwise.

I'm disappointed Gordon Brown stepped down. I am. He said he wouldn't, even if the party lost, and I think he got shanghai'd into doing it to give a Lib-Lab coalition a chance which then didn't even get off the ground. I think he got shanked, actually. I think he was too worried about getting re-elected, and not worried enough about what needed to be done. So. Thanks for that, Mr Brown.

Blah blah blah etc. Time to get up and get on.

I've been following the elections pretty closely, but everything yesterday seemed to happen so fast! Basically I'm worried about how the Browns managed to move out of 10 Downing on such abrupt notice. Is it all symbolic? Or do they have everything packed weeks ahead of time? These are the pressing political issues I'm determined to get to the bottom of.

This is actually something that concerns me a lot! I mean, the Browns were in there for most of Blair's rule, too (he needed the house next door because it was bigger) so that's a lot of stuff to move! Though, to be honest, I don't think they use it as their primary residence? Hmm.

But yeah, things did got wicked fast yesterday. That's politics.
