For those that missed it: outtakes from a session in which Ricky Gervais meets Elmo. I have watched this repeatedly since I saw it yesterday and I LOVE IT. The ending is kind of scary? lols.

Things that happened today:

// it was my last day at the centre omg.

// as a result, I decided that I really needed to get paperwork straightened out before I left, so I did some super boring filing. There's a girl (I think she's 19?) who comes in every Friday and I made her pose with a couple of ducks; I compensated her with hot chocolate and we joked about my inner crazy

// on the way back to the class we encountered a people-sized box which reminded me that I have a deep fear of people-sized boxes. What if someone appears from nowhere and bundles you off in one?! You think I'm kidding around but no, this is an actual worry of mine. (Hey, I've been attacked by random flower pots. My paranoia is justified!)

// We came to the end of our receipt book so I spent a good 45 minutes going through a new one and stamping on every third page (it just says, DCC, date, for, cash &c.) Because it's the sixth book, we change the numbers (1-100) to reflect this (601-700). Um. Except. I totally skipped a hundred and was writing 701, 702, 703 &c. So then I had to get another receipt book, go through the stamp process again, and then write out the 600s. True story.

// The Where can you see lions? / Only in Kenya song came up in discussion but I don't really remember why.

// One of the guys who comes in for classes makes model boats. I don't mean things that you fit in bottles, or things that are the size of your hand: I mean, motorised model boats. THEY ARE IMMENSE. We took one of the boats to the river along with the ducks and we set them in the water. I'm not going to lie: I was HUGELY IMPRESSED.

// Oh wait: lions! The centre is holding a name-the-lion competition. There's a gorgeous stuffed-toy lion, and a list of 50 names. 50p to pick a name, and if yours is the name that gets picked (via raffle), you win the toy. It's part of the effort towards raising money for a new floor in the hall. Another part of that is the Old Time Music Hall & Fish and Chip Supper thing that is going on tomorrow night. Trustee gave me 2 free tickets and I'm sort of obliged, so I am taking The Sister with me, lols.

// This happened during the lunch hour. By the time I got back I had 15 minutes to walk to The Dad's store and back. All this really involves is walking half way down the road. What it actually ended up involving was meeting every person I've ever known as I tried to get to the store.

// When I got back I sat at the reception desk whilst the Trustee took her wee dog for a walk. GUYS. THIS STORY IS BOTH SAD AND HEARTENING. This wee pup - she is gorgeous, just lovely - was found DROWNING IN A DITCH. She'd been tossed, basically, and abused, and is so wee, and so timid. The Trustee's friend found her and picked her up a week a go; Trustee has since adopted her. She is called Millie-Mae. Trustee, who is kind of into Duck Cheer now, made me take a picture of her with the ducks so I'll post that eventually. SERIOUSLY. I hope her previous owners get stabbed in the eye with a burning hot fork. Trustee has done wonders with her though: she's been to the vet, she's been cleaned up and well-fed, she's been exercised. My gosh, guys. Humans are heinous motherfuckers sometimes and sometimes they are wondrous motherfuckers.

// I spent the afternoon session drafting letters and writing questionnaires. And then the day was over :( The centre's Caretaker is this guy I've known for years - he's awesome. He was game for a laugh and he was all for taking a photo with the ducks. There's a great snap of him with them on his shoulders. He's such a kindly fellow, always has been, and he's so laid back. He used to wear his hair long, but he's cut it in recent years. When I was little (and I mean, like, 6-7years) I thought he was a hippie. For all I know, he actually was a hippie. Grrrrrreat guy.

// I was marching home, listening to Rilo Kiley's Under the Blacklight (Breaking Up is a TERRIFIC song to walk to, guys, for serious; most of the album is, actually) when The Dad pulled up alongside me. Yay for getting a lift home!

This evening Five aired Corporal Punishment (5.10, NCIS) so naturally I watched it again. Can now recite the dialogue pretty much verbatim. [livejournal.com profile] wishes_of_stone texted me during the first ad break and, because I don't have any credit, I called her on the landline during the second one. We spent four minutes omg-ing over everything (mostly Ziva, let's be honest) and then watched the rest of the episode before having another very similar conversation. GOOD TIMES, Y'ALL.

I have also rewatched parts of this week's Criminal Minds. I read a review of the episode which I agree with in the main, but disagreed with on some details. Sometimes I read reviews of episodes and I wonder if the reviewer and I even watched the same scene. I know interpretations vary but how so widely?

Anyway, but really, Paget Brewster was fantastic this week, guys, and I am going to keep saying it over and over again because I have yet to cap the scene and give you the play-by-play which proves it.

Bonus: blooper reels for S2 (the first one, with Mandy? SO WEIRD. SO GREAT).

Thank you to everyone who left me a comment or a message or an email earlier this week; I really appreciate it. I promise I will get back to you all individually soon enough. On Sunday I will have to go and buy my train ticket. I am hoping that I get to grips with the whole thing by then or else Monday is going to be a hell of a shock.

This tweet pretty much sums up my reaction to this week's Bones. Also, lols, David Boreanaz directed this week and it kind of shows? Not in a bad way. Just in a ...choice ...way. Or something.

Cam having wildly inappropriate sex with anyone is fine with me. :D I haven't liked the rotating interns very much, but this one is a little funnier than the rest.

She is pretty damn fine, y/y?

I loved the actress in NCIS, too.
