I feel like this entire week has been entirely uneventful, but this is untrue. Monday morning I was at the community centre helping out in the computer class, and I manned the centre's reception over lunch. (Had a decidedly difficult conversation about Jobseekers' Allowance - which I am not claiming but soon will be - and made a phone call about a job, huzz.) Monday night was the Spooks finale so I spent the hour before (and the first fifteen minutes of) the show making cookie dough which I then refrigerated. On Tuesday I spent most of the afternoon cutting and cooking star-shaped biscuits. I also made some chocolate chip cookies which went down a storm with The Dad.
Late on Tuesday The Dad, The Sister and I all traipsed into P. so that I could buy new boots from Clarkes using The Sister's staff discount card. We ended up browsing through a couple of stores and The Dad bought hot beverages for himself and The Sister. Was quite the trip out. That night I tried to drizzle chocolate over the star-shaped biscuits but found my talents lacking. They came out pretty good, though, all things considered.
Wednesday morning I was at the community centre helping Mac Lady with some of her queries. Things I did not know about the Mac mouse: it does have left- and right-click capability. It is just super furtive about the whole thing.
Today I needed to buy some jeans because mine aren't really people-friendly any more. I went into D. with The Mother and looked around the two shops we have only to find that D. only sells low-waisted jeans. This explains a lot of chavdom to me. Walked to The Store, waited around for The Mother and then realised that I would have to go into town for said jeans. The Mother gave me some money and we went to the bank together before she left for Leicester, and I waited for the bus. This was about midday.
Three-plus hours later I was finally on my way home. P. was a nightmare - filled with last minute shoppers. I didn't have enough money to buy my jeans from Next, which is what I usually do, so I ended up getting them from New Look, of all places (I never shop there). I thought the trip would be straight forward but trying to find a pair of dark-coloured bootcut jeans that aren't low-riders was fuck difficult, not just because they're a rare commodity, but because different jeans cuts have different names, none of which describe what the cut actually is. On top of that, H&M's sizes were all in the European listing which... I have no idea what the Brit conversions are. Clothes shopping is currently depressing for me because a/ expensive wtf (although the jeans I bought were £10, huzzarms) and b/ omg I still don't have an accurate conception of my weight. So, yeah, fun times.
Anyway, caught the bus home and ended up standing in The Store for two hours whilst The Dad had a break. Came home, wrapped a parcel that needs sending, did internet-related things, and then ate before taking a shower/washing my hair. I just finished packing, lols. So. Travel is a go.

Have made lists to check before I leave tomorrow, and I changed (some of) the music on my zen for the first time since August. Am currently converting all the things I didn't watch this week so that I can watch them on the train. PRIORITIES, GUYS; I HAVE THEM.
Also, Uncle #4 randomly turned up about an hour ago? Apparently he and The Dad are going to a funeral tomorrow, but I hadn't heard anything about it before now, so idk. As it turns out, I won't see either of my parents before I leave tomorrow, or even my sister. So.
Travel freaks me out. But it should be okay. I have a duffel and a backpack, the latter of which is mostly empty. I'm only going for 2 nights, but I am having to consider a lot of crap.

Things I am obsessed with: Lykke Li's KEXP Live performance. Dance, Dance, Dance is in my head ALL THE TIME. Hearts, yo.

In short: I'm off to Aberdeen tomorrow (yay!) and will be back Sunday evening, at which point I will probably watch Merlin (again: PRIORITIES). Once upon a time travelling away used to mean that you wouldn't hear from me in the interim but I now have a phone that isn't from the Age of the Brick, so I will more than likely tweet my way through the weekend.
Stay safe, y'all.
