Today I spent the whole day at the community centre. I say 'all day' but it's not really a 9-to-5 gig. In the morning session I helped a woman to navigate her word processor, and then I helped her to download and set up Thunderbird so that she can access her email without having to tackle her nightmare email interface. I also started designing a 'details' card so that we can start offering a service that helps people sign up for an email account, and sync their mail service with their computers/laptops.

After lunch I spent a couple of hours with a woman who was trying to get to grips with her Mac computer but didn't know where to start. We managed to get her using the internet/Safari, and I sent her to Apple's support/Mac tour pages before talking to her about things like Finder and so on. Super basic stuff, naturally, as I've never touched a Mac computer.

To that end, dear Mac users, could some of you help me out? I need some screen shots of things like the email client, the compose/write section of the client, and Finder, as well as the 'shut down' options (sleep etc.) Let me know if you can. I'd be extremely grateful.

During lunch I went to see Baby Cousin and got roped into a babysitting tomorrow night, and on Sunday I have to cover a shift at the store whilst The Dad goes to a memorial service.

I am a volunteering machine, obviously.

I just updated my CV with the work I've been doing this past month, and I'm hoping it helps. It's a shame that my volunteer position isn't a paid one because the work is great. Of course, I'm not really doing a lot, so it's not really wage-worthy work. Hmm.

Completely unrelated: I am trying to decide whether or not planning a 'trip' for June 2009 is a great idea or a terrible one. Or maybe both? Hmmm. HMMMM. I don't even know any more.
