HOLY FUCK, NOT SPY!GRAN.* WHY SPY!GRAN, WHYYYYYYYY?! I know there was foreshadowing all over the place but I never thought it would be like this.

AND BEN WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK. (That scene? I mean, I saw it coming, and I still lost my shit completely.) (It was terrible.) (I am CRYING ABOUT THIS.) (The part that COMPLETELY broke me? When Ben says no to the (poisoned-)tea. The way she's all kind of regretful. That was the moment at which my heart shattered into a million million pieces.)

I would like fic about Maria and Harry and all the ways in which they never knew each other. Lucas in Russia was a BOON, and his rapport with Maria K was endearing. I wish she hadn't died, either, but it was obviously just that kind of episode.

*) Why is it that none of the senior female agents seem to stay the course? Tessa, Juliet, Ros [kind of], and Spy!Gran :'(((( I wish it wasn't her not only because I LOVE HER but because I liked that she was kickass and senior and so fucking competent. BUT HOLY SHIT COULD SHE GIVE IRINA DEREVKO A RUN FOR HER MONEY. BITCH IS COLD.

To be entirely honest, when she hissed at Harry like a cat, that made me love her even more. (That picture of her that Lucas finds in Russia? Jees, that woman was a looker. So pretty. So classical.)

edit: the thing is, I know SpyGran's evil and all, but she's evil in a rather badass way. (That BLADE? WTF.) I AM WRECKED, GUYS. TOTALLY WRECKED. (Buuuut: evil! Oh god. I am ~CONFLICTED~ about all of this!)

Okay, so. This is going to sound stupid, but: my mum is the kind of person who loves to be spoiled for things. We haven't seen this episode yet, but she asked me about it, so I told her what I know from Wikipedia with regards to SpyGran and Ben. She took the news about Ben very badly and announced that she wouldn't watch if it was sad, so I promised I'd ask you for clarification. Could you, idk, tell me what happens to Ben? I don't mind if you want to e-mail me to save other people from being spoiled, but my mum won't watch it unless she's been given the play-by-play.

("Ask her if there's any chance Ben is still alive," she just said, with utmost seriousness. She is somewhat attached to Ben).

Ben is so very dead, and it is heartbreaking. SpyGran kills him - apparently with the underwire from her bra. (Um, no. But the long metal blade does come from the lining of her top.) SLITS HIS THROAT.

I watched the first 20 minutes or so (please, he told Lucas to apologise to that woman that it took him this to get in touch, I immediately thought it might be Ruth, which I'm sure was entirely intentional, and then i had to watch until we saw her) and then forced myself to bed.

That's two weeks in which we've had a Ruth reference (um, or so I like to think) and yet no joy.

I am ~conflicted~ about this episode! Much calmer now that I've slept on it, but still.

You know how this show can completely come off the rails in terms of insane and yet still be ridiculously compelling? EXACTLY THAT.

I hate Jack, too, so I don't know. I felt like I was getting goods for all the gratuitous shit that gets thrown on female characters.

I don't even know what was happening in that episode because I was too busy freaking out about Spooks. But hell yeah, Hollis Mann/Susanna Thompson, whoooo!
