(Not dial-up friendly.) Witness: M's continued obsession with a/ The Fen and b/ the macro setting on her camera. Whoot!

The place where I live is this curious anachronism in an otherwise traditional countryside landscape. The villages we pass on the way to my secondary school are very much English fen villages: one church, one bench, one post office. But the town where my rents' store is has really modern aspects (The Factory Shop!) right next to some really historical pieces (original stonework). After you pass the village/street where I live, the area slowly becomes more and more urban until you're properly circling greater P. and all its small city status. So we're in a bit of a broken time warp. We don't have the stateliness of S, which is where they film things like Pride and Prejudice, but we're lucky not to have the trashy, congested mess of the city.

Sometimes I think about the place where I live and I find it completely ironic.

this picture makes me laugh a little because it's a fairly accurate representation of the domestic side of our lives: god and tea.

my sister, dressed as though she's about to embark on the arctic.

the sister leaves for her spanish exchange trip tomorrow.
